I was driving to the dealership for about the millionth time for my seats and I'm cruising going about 50 in a 45 and my brother is following me in his truck because I had to drop off the car. Anyways I'm just driving along and this lady in a ford explorer pulls a left from a side street right in front of me!!!. I slam on the breaks because she was going about 20 and the ABS kicked in and I ducked into the next lane really quick and pulled up next to her and it was some lady on her f$%*ing cell phone, and I'm give her a dirty look and motion to her like a "what the f%$* was that? and she has the nerve to flip me off. I was so pissed I dropped it in 2nd and took off to get away from the stupidity.
I never had a problem with SUV's until now, it seems liek more and more of them are losing any driving skills they may have had.

The problem was not the SUV, or the cell phone but the idiot that was using both at the same time. There is mounting data that indicates a correlation to cell phone use while driving and accidents. Expect it to be illegal to drive and use one of those things at the same time soon.
My favorite idiot behavior are the people that drive and read a newspaper at the same time. I have witnessed this, on highways with speed limits of 70 miles per hour.

LOL! Right on, more and more people, who i have noiced drivea certain type of vehicle, such as Lexus's, Minivans, and SUV's, are increasingly impatient and stupid drivers. I got passed while going 75 in a 65 today by a Lexus who had to be going 100+, while talking on a cell phone! WHY? Is your life so unimportant? What the @#*@ is so important that you have to talk while on your way somewhere in that big of a hurry?
Done.

I have to agree with you regarding more and more idiots on the highways. Most of these people can't get through a grocery store with out hitting something with their cart and they drive the same way.

If you think people drive bad when you are in a car, just wait till you ride a motorcycle with other cars. With in 2 miles of were I work I had a car tailgating (nothing new), one cut me off (nothing new), and I even had one try and share a lane with me

IMHO, I have long believed minivan drivers to be the scourge of the road. They're always in the way, and can usually be counted on to the most lamea$$ed things behind the wheel. The drivers are too busy yelling at their kids to pay attention to their driving. I always tell my wife when I see 2 or more together that "they do travel in herds." It's getting tougher now that minivan drivers are transitioning over to SUV's, you can't tell anymore which group, AS A WHOLE ( no personal insults intended ), drive more stupidly.
I totally agree with Wreckman that cell phone use while driving ought to be illegal. I only use my cell phone in the car when I'm parked or if I'm the passenger.

It will soon be a law in the state of Washington that hands off attachments must be used. There is already a law that the police can use but it has something to do with not paying attention... It's a pretty vague a broad law. I can't remember the name of it. But, at any rate they are working on legislation now to cease the driver with the cell phone pressed between his/her shoulder and their ear.

Some of the early reports on the cell phone use indicate the problems go deeper than just haveing something in your hands. It seems that even with hands free when someone is involved in a conversation they are less aware of their driving. Assuming the conversation may be a business as opposed to a personal call the conversation may require a well thought out reply. Under those conditions a drivers judgement is impaired, more so as the driving conditions get more complicated, and their reaction time is increased as well.
I can really sympathise with the biker as I have had several myself. My last one was a rather heavily modified Motto Guzzi Le Manns.
On another note if you want to really develope a low opinion of man-kind in general direct traffic at a busy intersection for a while. After a couple of hours of this you will then wonder how man- kind has managed to stay alive as long as it has.

Unfortunately we can't legeslate common sense. There is really no way to keep these idiots off the road so I'm afraid our only choice is to just drive with our heads on a swivle.
I don't ride a bike anymore, when I did though I was always jeriking my head around and watching everyting around me.
Heads up and let's keep it safe out there. Well as safe as we can with people driving that should probably be hooked up to a life support machine, so that their 2 remaining brain cells don't have to fight over which one will keep the body working.
