Greetings all, I just purchased my 8th F-body, an absolutely beautiful Sunset Orange '01 SS. I thought I pretty much knew all there was to know about these but with this one I find myself asking a few questions I hope you fellow F-body gearheads can answer. They may be petty, but I'm still curious nonetheless:
1. Right beside the foglight and ASR switch, there's a CAMARO nameplate. On some SSs I've seen it say CAMARO SS, but mine doesn't. I know on the 02s they all had the "35th Anniversary Camaro". Which ones had the CAMARO SS?
2. If an SS had the SLP wxhaust, does that mean it has the SS grille also? Because mine has the SLP exhaust but the standard grille.
3. Any way to find out production numbers on the SLP-equipped SSs?
Thanks all for your assistance.

Welcome! My current Camaro is also my 8th f-body.
1.) the Camaro SS nameplate was a Y2Y (SLP) option. You can still get one through SLP though.
2.) The SS grill was also another Y2Y option Each option would be a seperate charge.
3.) Im sure someone here will be able to get you those production numbers and you can also check over on the SLP message board. www.slpeng.com

Feel free to ask questions, it gives us something to do around here.
The exhaust is a separate option from the grille, and so are the dash plaque/key fobs. Each item (along with quite a few others that were available) had to be ordered seperatly.
does this mean you currently have 8 F bodies? or have had in the past? Welcome aboard! Posts: 1443 | From: Lake Oswego, Oregon | Registered: Dec 2001

Thanks for the warm welcome, "y'all" (lol). Anyway I did some research with SLP, my car was build # 4148. It does have the Center-mounted exhaust and is supposed to have the SS grille but it doesn't. The car was bought new in Texas and that's where I got it, I'm guessing since TX has a 2-plate law, a front plate wouldn't work on an SS grille so that's why it has a standard Camaro Grille (?) So I need to get the grille, the key-fobs, floor mats and CAMARO SS dash plaque.
Steve, I don't have 8 F-bodies (wish I could afford to!). My previous 7 were:

You got it! Almost didn't post, thought it might be a bit of a stretch. Glad to know I'm not the only "old ****" on this board.
