So far I have purchased my shorty headers, a fan control switch, and a line-lock from SLP and all the parts so far have been first rate. Everything has installed just as shown on the instructions and if you can get on the mailing list they have a yearly race day in Ennis with some some good deals and nice gift bags. My only complaint is that they are carrying less and less for the LT1 cars which is what mine happens to be. I am sure others on the board may have had different experiences but so far I have nothing to complain about. I hope that helps.

The only problem I had with SLP is getting my engine plaque when the customer service rep forgot to tell me about sales tax. I had to send a check for a couple of dollars so they would send it to me......LOL. Other than that they are great and haven't had any problems......knock on wood. I guess than it all comes down to personal opinion cause almost every one at another f-body forum seems to hate SLP.

We've had good service from SLP, whether it's been Performance Parts or Engineering. Remember, they're seperate companies. One is for aftermarket parts (PP) and the other is for OEM related parts/info (Eng).

So far I've bought an Engine Plaque and SLP LT Headers and Cats (through Zeke's in Montreal) and the parts are first rate quality. Installation was easy if you follow instructions and use a hoist. I had a problem getting a replacement birth certificate from the dealer because of an error, but a phone call to the right person got it replaced right away.

Tho SLP has had some problems in the past with their chrome plateing on the wheels....about the only horror story i know of. I still use and support their products, i personally have found them to have very good products and no problems with customer service. Maybe i'm lucky,? but i'd recommend them.

Anyone had the SLP chrome SS center caps for the SLP chrome wheels get really loose???

SLP is slowly phasing out it's support for F-Bodies. Their forum lists SS' down at the bottom of the page now, even though it is the most active forum they have. I guess we'll see in the near future if we survive at all on their forum!!

The folks at SLP ...Engineering, Automotive Group and Performance Parts are all first class. This became really evident to me at the 2nd SLP Engineering Customer Appreciation Event when I bent a pushrod during the drag racing.
I have a picture of Brian Reese (PP Chief Engineer) Jeff Yachnin (Eng. Chief Engineer) Dave Hamburger (Hot Wheels Collector ) and of course Scott Settlemire (the Fbodfather) all simultaneously under the hood diagnosing the problem. We ultimately chose to drive home wounded but we knew we were well cared for by SLP and Chevy.
I've had no parts or service problems with either PP or Eng.
I have an opinion as to why there are people that don't like SLP ...but it's not easily conveyed in a quickly typed message.

Hey Art, I remember that. That was the year the SLP CAD was held at Milan Raceway, and we were all staying at a hotel/motel in Ann Arbor as I recall.
Your car was near the end of the parking lot in the first row from the hotel. There was even a suggestion made as to which local dealership you could have taken the car. I'm surprised you drove it back wounded....ouch.
I echo your sentiments about SLP. I have had nothing but great experiences ordering parts from them and meeting them at various events.
BTW, that was a great week-end. We even saw Hawkeys's SS at the duty-free on the way across the border.

Canadian, bald, drive silver SSs, bent pushrods during drag racing at SLP CAD (I did at Napierville)You had the SLP/GM dudes trying to help you - Tom Byrne took a shot with my car and I also drove home to Toronto wounded. Sheets, I feel the same. This seems like "home" now. I've been on LS1 and LS1tech.com for just as long as I've been on SLP's board and neither of them felt right.
I wasn't even aware of this board. I'm glad MMM_ERT directed me here.

I remember that I had registered here right before finding SLP's board. I was enthralled by the fact that when you refreshed the page you had at least 6 or 7 new posts to look at. That place was hoppin'!
I guess I was just drawn to the action.
After that... I always thought you needed to be an SSOA member to post here. Don't ask me why

I got my first of 3 second build SLP cars in 98 and always had good service from them and parts sent fast when I needed them to get ready for a event. I once needed some parts before going to Superfest and called them 2 days before I was to leave on the trip and was told they were 2 weeks behind on orders going out at PP so I called friends at home office and had then next day on my porch that is service when you need it. The parts were always as advertized also
