Lots of speculation, Car mag writers have said Chevrolet is coming back with RWD soon! Think maybe a Chevelle SS, Pontiac started the musclecar craze with the 64 GTO, Now in 2004 we have a GTO, Camaro was introduced in 1967, now we have the GTO and the Corvette price point is 15K more for Corvette! In the 60's many cars were created in the garages the manufacturers called "Skunk Works", as they tried to keep a lid on anything that the competition might get wind of, It is feasible with Scott Settlemire on the right hand and Bob Lutz Chairman Chevrolet may be on a roll!

but my take is if its Chevelle, then that dont bode well for the Camaro brand name.
I doubt Chevy could pull off two RWD performance cars that are in similar market segments.

I'd settle for one RWD performance car in that segment!
...of course I'd prefer the Camaro, but a retro Chevelle with 350hp+ would be nice too. Posts: 545 | From: Gardnerville, NV. | Registered: Aug 2003

I agree with Chris.
However, even though it would be cool to get a Camaro back, it would be cooler to just get a nice RWD V8 car offering from GM. In other words, I don't care what it's called...you can put whatever nameplate you want on it because the F-car that we know is dead anyway. So whether it's Camaro, Chevelle, or anything else, I hope it's sporty, comfortable, reasonably priced, and obviously performance minded.
:fingers crossed:

If I'm reading the tea leaves right, we might get two. Either Camaro and Chevelle or Camaro and Monte Carlo. But I don't think we'll ever see Chevelle and Monte Carlo side by side on the showroom floor again.
