I'm gonna try to make the most of my second post on this board, so here goes: I see where many folks bash the SLP LT Headers on the LS1.com board. The most common remark is that you will never get BIG numbers with them, the comments regarding the fitment issues don't really concern me, but I'm interested to anyone's feedback on this board about the SLP Headers- positive and negative. I bought some used ones at a great price, and I'm just curious about what kind of numbers I may see after I install them w/high flow cats and cutouts. Please see my sig for my current mods. TIA!

I just installed (a few monthes ago) a set on my 02 SS.

I don't have any dyno numbers to support your questions, but I will give them a [Thumps up Smiley here]

If you got a set cheap than it's a no brainer. You'll probably need the install kit for $100. It's worth the money as it makes the install easier.

I would also recommend using new header bolts. You don't have to, but I would if I had to do it again.

Power wise...it's my understanding that other headers can produce greater peak numbers, but the SLP LTs give a flatter or broader increase across the rpm range.

Good luck

I've had the SLP LT's and Random Tech cats on my '02 Hawk for about three weeks now. Mods are SLP LT's, Random Tech Cats, Loudmouth, 160* stat, smooth bellows and Vig. 2800.

Baseline dyno results with mods listed above were 295.3 HP and 307.9 TQ. After tuning, results were 324.1 HP and 338.4 TQ.

One point to keep in mind, the SLP LT's and 3" y-pipe deffinately hang low particularly with the Bilstein suspension. On a positive note, there is no banging on the floor board.

Steve.

02 Blackhawk- that is basically the exact setup that I am getting w/ the Random Tech cats. I am pleased to see that you had some strong gains there- I have ported/polished stock heads and a cam, so I'm thinking that this will really wake mine up. My numbers through the stock manifolds are already pretty strong, but I'm hoping to get the same gains you posted. Thanks for sharing! [Cool]

Thanks LS1-TCB. Your set-up with the SLP LT's along with the ported heads and cam should show you quite a bit more gain that what I got. Let us know how you do.

BTW, what cam are you running?

I've been contemplating adding the '02 LS6 cam to my set-up.

02 Blackhawk- I am running a Nuteck Cam than came highly recommended by a friend. The specs are below in my signature- I have been very happy with it- great powerband, retains daily driveability but has that unmistakable "lope". Had some issues early with it stalling in hot weather w/AC on, but after some LS1Edit tuning- it's all good!
