hey i don't know if i'm posting this in the right forum but i just wanted to know...i'm in the market for a new car and i have no idea of where to begin...i have 18k to spend and insurance is an issue...so basically i'm looking for an affordable car with some power...so any help would be much appreciated

Well, not sure what kind of car you are looking for. You can probably get a 98-00 LS1 easily for 18k, but I dont konw about the insurance bit. It varies from perosn to person. If you want something small but is still fast, check into the Dodge SRT4. Although they are going for 20k, but less harsh in the insurance area. Just some thoughts at the top of my head right now. I'll think of some more as time goes by. I'm sure others have ideas as well.

thanks for the suggestion...i haven't really looked at those...problem is dad doesn't want to buy a used car...otherwise i would be lookin at a V6 firebird
