Okay...I have a question. We have a 1999 SS that is pewter. It only has one emblem located above the rear bumper on the passenger side. My first question is: Is that how they came from the factory?

I was also curious in getting two more emblems to put in front of the doors on the front fenders. Second question: What is the best way to go about getting these and making sure the ones I get are stock and the right color?

Third question: Are these emblems or decals?

Thanks, y'all! We've only had our SS for a few days, and the students we teach will NOT stop asking about it! You are the best as far as information for the F-body!

Your SS should have an SS emblem below the right tail light and one on each front fender. If you have the optional SS grille from SLP, it too will have an SS emblem.

If memory serves me correctly, Black cars got red outlines and all others got silver outlines. (I know that someone will step in and set me straight if I've got this one wrong.) You can order them from your GM dealer using the part #'s listed earlier in this thread.

They are raised, pliable, emblems. They come sandwiched between 2 pieces of waxy paper. You peel the back off first, place the emblems, then peel off the top layer of paper after they are stuck.

I'm worried now...Our vehicle doesn't have an "SS" emblem on the front fenders. Should I be worried about it being a regular Camaro "upgraded"?

Sorry...I didn't quote like I should have.

Since our SS does not have any emblems on the fenders, should I be worried about it being a regular Camaro made into an SS? For the price we paid for it, I've wondered about that.

Thanks!

Look on your driver's door sticker for RPO code WU8. That designates the car as an SS. If it has Y2Y on there, too, then it was eligible for additional SLP content. If it has SLP additional content, you'll find an additional sticker listing those on the passenger door.

Black with Silver outline is correct for a pewter '99.

Another option is to remove the back emblems too! [Big Grin]
