summit has a add for the LT4 conversion kit for the LT1. they calm these LT4 parts are proven to give you 425hp.... intake -hot cam -heads-1.6:1 rockers. now some how i can't see just those mods making that horsepower since they aren't really anything serious. what do you guys think? i have a bunch of things already done to my car but no heads or cam setup yet.

A good heads and cam package will easily make an additional 100 hp at the crank. The LT4 was rated at 330 hp and consistantly ran 330-345 RWHP, with the addition of a "hot cam" I can easily see it making 425 hp at the crank.

People who have done this, say that 425hp is probably the upper limit that you can normally get but easy 400+. And that you can make more hp doing your own heads and cam. cheaper. This package does have one important advantage going for it. It is a factory proven package that will get you 400+hp and is street compatible.
