Everyone seems to know each other, who is going to KY! How did all of these guys get to know each other? From previous SSOA meetings? From being in their own states? How?
If I registered for this meeting, I wuldn/t know a soul!

Besides small gatherings among SSOA members in our home states, we have gotten to know each other by posting on this forum.
Meeting at various events like SLP day, Bragg-Smith Advanced Driving School, IndY2K, Superfest, and the upcoming Bowling Green event is the bonus to talking to everyone on a day to day basis on the board.
By attending the Bowling Green event, you'll get to meet a lot of really neat people and have an experience you'll never forget. It starts out being about the cars, but always ends up being about the people.
Definitely register and attend the B.G. event, along with the special SSOA activities on Thursday, Sept 19th. You won't regret it.

You will after the meet
My story ... SLP Message board early 1999. I'm researching ordering a Camaro ... meet some friendly folks there. I get the car and stay in touch on the board.
Fast forward to 2000 ... SLP Engineering announces a "Customer Appreciation Event" in Ann Arbor. My wife and I decide to make the trip East, combining it with a bit of a holiday.
Through the board we arrange to meet with DanA (from NH) in Brampton to drive down to Windsor to meet Hawkeye and Rock ... all for the first time. We get together for lunch there ... and get acquainted while our wives get into how "obseSSed" we guys are.
That was the start. Since then I've been to the 2001 and 2002 SLP Mid-West Customer appreciation events, IndY2K put on by Chevy and the CICC, Bowling Green last fall, and Bragg-Smith in 2000 and 2001.
It is amazing how quickly friends are made when we have our cars in common as ice-breakers.
I've enjoyed all the events, and look forward to many more, but the first one ... not knowing what to expect ... is the one that is most special to me.
Come on out ... you will not regret it. Posts: 4222 | From: Winnipeg MB CA | Registered: Feb 2000

most of us know each other through camaro events. it is a great way to finally put a name to a face. some of us also live very close to one another.
come to BG, and that way you can start meeting new friends.

I've actually only met in person very few folks, poSSum and Scott S for 2, from this board, probably a few more. The various message boards is about the only way I get to know any of the folks who aren't local to me. I'm bad with names, so it is always great to be able to put a face and real name (not screen persona) together and hang out to get to know some folks. Meeting new people is what is best about these events. All you have to do is walk up and say HI and you are in. The SSOA Thursday will be a great time since it will be all SSOA folks, giving a great chance to meet ALOT of them. I'm making me up a couple of SSOA t-shirts (iron on) for the event with a large SSOA logo on the back and a small one with my name and member number on the front, so folks will know I'm part of the SSOA. It puts me in a little conflict, since I'm also in the KY F-Bod club and we are helping at some of the events I believe again this year.

I'm also registered for my first time and don't really know anybody except a couple of people from around here. I'm looking forward to meeting and putting a face to a bunch of the names on the boards. Posts: 428 | From: Winnipeg, MB, Canada | Registered: Oct 2001

I was just a board member and never met anyone that frequents this board except for the Fbodfather, then Hawkeye invited me to his home on June 27th (my wife's birthday)for a BBQ! There I met Brian and his family,Art,Dan,John and others that I forgot their names. A short time later we caravaned to the SLP Customer Appreciation Day in Ohio! That ride was fun and even met a few more board members like Chris L, and Mary and Ralph and maybe more that I forgot their names!(I am the worst with names) The strange thing is after you meet some of these good people, it feels like you have known them for a while now! I started out on the SLP board and before long, I got an email from Teri, telling me about a few of the events in the area. I finally got to meet them at the Legends Tour last September and was amazed at how fast we all became good friends.
If you can make it for the SSOA activities on Thursday, go for it! If not, be sure to be there Friday-Sunday and plan to make many new aquaintances and several friends.

Erin, The shirt looks GREAT!!!! Nate's been holding out on us.....I figure he'll show up wearing his new shirt one of these days.
Could you get us a list of colors and definite prices? I'm assuming it's the Jerzees line like this:
If people sent the $$ to you by a certain date, perhaps you could get them made and bring them to B.G.
