A few thoughts on Bowling Green...

Anybody know what the current count/registration numbers are?
Scott (Settlemire of course) has made a challenge of 1000 cars. We have 8-10 weeks to poke, prod, or whatever toconvince those still undecided (Gino)...

Caravans...I'm sure a few are planned, however are there any ideas/thought on how we all could centrally/collectively post them?
It wouldn't be as much to coordinate all of them, ...just a way for others to know routes that are being taking. (board moderators, ..Would making a separate "Bowling Green" topic/subject help this?, ...(ie. a line item similar to "SSOA:General Discussion")

I have a large email distribution list of Camaro clubs, people, etc. (re: "Letters to Scott"...) If this baord was the place to go to for caravan info, etc., ...I would gladly send a note to the distribution list in hopes of getting something started.

...Thoughts, ideas, ...anyone...???

...Our group from the Hudson Valley area will be heading out Tuesday morning taking I-84west, to I-81South, ...looking to cruise SKYLINE DRIVE, Blue Ridge Prkwy...whatever other scenic routes we can find...,and arriving Wednesday night.

WCA is also trying to set up a bunch of caravans from each state to Bowling Green. That would be a neat site to see 50 or more F-bodies in a row on the hi way at one time!

Good idea!

I think a lot of the SSOA folks that are attending will be rolling in Wednesday evening. We'll be doing our own "caravaning" on Thursday

I'm leaving Southern Ontario on Wed. morning. Plan on hooking up with Dan and other easterners in Ohio somewhere and heading south together.

Would love more company!

We will be leaving Portland, OR on Saturday the 14th and heading east on highway I-84. OBSSD, NATESS, possibly SS R US, and anybody else we can ralley, will be heading out as a group.

I think we are hooking up with someone in Idaho (if possible), and also with others in St Louis (?). Teri and Cy have the rest of our trip notes, and I am sure they can post the rest of the journey details. We will be getting into Bowling Green on Wednesday evening sometime.

Really looking foreward to this event and meeting old/new friends! Man its coming up fast!!!

Let us know if you are going our way, and want/need to hook up with us.

We leave Portland, OR on Saturday, Sept 14th.
Overnight stop is estimated in Idaho.
Sunday night stop is estimated in Utah.
Monday night in Colorado.
We'll be stopping in Kansas City to pick up J.R., Natalie and the rest of the K.C. folks on Tuesday, Sept. 17th, and rolling into B.G. on Wednesday evening.

Make sure all of you interested in attending the special SSOA activities on Thursday, Sept. 19th have RSVP'd to Art. I'll get that list from Art and then I will be asking all of you to post a digital picture of your SS so we can make I.D. cards for you.

If anyone along our route is interested in hosting us for the night (floor space for a few sleeping bags or a hotel recommendation that has safe parking) we'd greatly appreciate it.

maybe the moderators could have a "Master" subject heading for bowling green that automatically stays at the top of the message board under General Discussion even if someone opens up a new topic. they did this over on the SLP message board a little while ago.

this way, anyone wanting any info. about bowling green can look in the post for updated info.

That's a good idea.
I don't know if J.R. can make "stickies" like Dave did on the SLP board, but we can ask.
Otherwise, maybe we can look into re-naming an unused area of the forum (the SSOA: Questions area, perhaps).

One thread would fill up fast with a lot of divergent conversations...I think it would need its own forum. But it's a great idea...we should have done it a long time ago.

yeah, having its own forum would probably be a better idea.

perhaps it could be called the "event forum", where you could post up coming events. whether it be a large event such as bowling green, or even little events such as the friday night cruise ins.
