I recently had an extremely loud exaust dump put on my 2000 Z28 just before the rear axle and caped it off because I feel like the car acts bad with it open. My question is: Does the dump create more back pressure and hurt your engine? I have a flowmaster muffler after that with stock pipes, does the dump give me more power than just using the Flowmaster?
Thanks for the help.

It should give you less exhaust pressure. most people lose low end torque and gain HP in the higher RPM's. Also I don't know if this is right but your computer may have to adjust to it. Maybe if you reset your PCM it woul dhelp. I'm just guessing though. I'm gonna be getting one pretty soon so I'll let you know how my car acts.

by "dump" im guessing you mean a cut out?? if so your losing low end power by killing your back pressure and if you already have a aftermarket exhaust then the cut out is pretty much a waste of money
on the street you want to have some low end from light to light having a cut out only helps at higher RPMs...
