Seems like LS1.com and SLP are happening, this place has turned into a non-technical, chit chat place with minimal real auto stuff let alone SS information. Really lame....I'm out, oh and by the way I still don't have my membership stuff, months later. When Grasso left this board went in the toilet.

I agree! It's nothing against the current moderators, but this board use to be a lot more fun when Grasso was director and the other moderators were in place. Too bad a few individuals had to ruin this board.

I disagree with those who are blaming the running of this board as to why it's changed. I noticed a huge difference in this board once the SLP Board xame on line again. Many of the people who were on this board were SLP stalwarts who came here when the original SLP Board was axed. Now, this board has not one, but 5 SLP Board to contend with. And let's not forget all of the other boards referred to above. Even the SLP Board(s) aren't has robust and "happening" as they once were. Unfortunately, the sheer number of boards is diluting the loyal user base that a board like this needs to function. And I don't think there's anything that can be done to change that.

The board is what you make it. If you ask a technical question, someone will try to answer. If someone else does, then maybe you could answer. Just sitting around reading and saying it's lame doesn't mean much to me.
I like the chit chat and I am confident I have a technical question then I'll get the answer.
I love SLP and I read the board, but that is what it used to like here. There is a lot of nastiness that goes along with all the good stuff. I like here now that it is quiet.
So, the bottom line is, contribute if you want, don't is you don't want to, stay here if you want, don't if you don't. It's all up to you. There are lots of boards. They are all good and we are all car enthusiasts so they are all worth looking it if you have that much time.
I'll spend mine here, chit chatting with friends and asking questions when I have them. Have a good week.

I am with you Dan! I like the atmosphere here now. Technical questions can be raised and we can chat about the weather! Or submarine invasions or whatever! For those who like it here, stay. FOr those who don't, go someplace that you like.

Hey, how come my submarine is stupid?? It keeps me warm!! It has more value than a lot of topics we discuss here. I already got roasted last week. Someone else's turn. I am in way to god of a mood with Bragg-Smith coming to start a fight. Wouldn't mind seeing someone else fight though!

Busier does not always mean better. This is still my home base. I check SLP as well if I have time, but I always start here. Time is to precious to start checking ALL the sites.

1. If you haven't received your first membership packet, please let me know. Everyone, except this month's new members, have been sent the first packet containing a welcome letter, a member information verification sheet, two SSOA logo static decals and two SSOA logo stickers. The only outstanding item is the Letter of Authentication and all it says in the welcome letter is that it will follow in a future mailing. We are still working on getting the verification info for all of the members cars.
2. Mike is still a participant on this message forum. If you page him, he'll respond. The SLP forum was introduced around the same time the moderators on this forum changed. The people who participated here the most met each other primarily on the original SLP board. This forum served as an interim meeting place until the new SLP forum was ready. People wanted this forum to stick around when the new SLP forum arrived......so here it is. We've all agreed that as long as it's wanted, it'll stay. If you want to see more action here, post more often! The moderators aren't responsible for generating board discussion. They just keep the weird stuff in check. It's up to everyone else who chooses to participate by posting questions, answers and general information to keep a dialogue going.
As always, you can contact me anytime you have questions.

OK, we won't pick on Dan. How about picking on Terri and her trailer? (Jimbo, a lead for you.)

That sounds a little extreme If you are that dissatisfied perhaps you should ask to have your dues refunded and membership withdrawn.
The directors share your frustration. We are doing everything we can to get the letters out fairly and accurately.

Wait a second, don't jump on the Board for non-involvement, members make it so. Remember I set a plan for member involvement and there weren't any takers....
I think with the addition of the SLP Board people have split their posts and things have just slowed down.
The Board is still trying to verify info so the Letters can go out with the Board doing the best they can with what info is available.
BTW I'm enjoying my retirement but I'm always available to the membership like Teri stated.

As a longtime veteran member of LS1.com and also as a member and sometimes contributor of this forum, I find it incredulous that an ingrate with a whole 42 posts since March could have the balls to come on here and bitch about the inactivity. Now THAT'S lame.
As with most things in life, you get out of them what you contribute and looking at what some of these individuals have donated, it seems highly unlikely that their absence will be noticed.

Hey, you old man, stop your bitchin'!!! I think what's really lame is threatening to call a lawyer to resolve the letter of authenticity dispute. Remember, as kids, we used to say things like, "My daddy can beat up your daddy" when we got into arguments? Now, it's, "My daddy's gonna sue your daddy!"

Now that I hold no position I can say with ease what a whiner he is, a definite plus to the Association! Instead of constructive thoughts it always falls to insults.

As Shakespeare once said and I'm paraphrasing, "Let's kill all the lawyers first."
Mike,
texas-ss can't be TOO much of a whiner. He only has 17 posts. If you're referring to someone else you should state it more clearly. BTW, would calling someone a "whiner" be considered an insult?
Double standards was ALWAYS one of the specific problems around here most notably manifested in the "disappearing posts" magic trick. Ahh...the good old days when one minute your post was there and the next it was consigned to oblivion.
