I came out of a meeting today to go back to my office and noticed a spot on the rear deck lid spoiler that I thought was bird droppings. Upon closer examination, it turns out some low class butthead smudged out their cigarette on my car. I was absolutely dumb founded by the thought of it. I even went the trouble of NOT parking near any other cars. Man, someone went out to their way to put their cigarette out on my car. Needless to say, I'm pissed.
I've cleaned the spot as thoroughly as possible and put a new coat of Zaino on the rear spoiler. But now I have this brown burn mark on my white SS. I'm getting upset just writing about the situation.
Does anyone now of a way short of repainting that will pull some of the burn out?

Oh man, what a royal bummer!! I can't believe anyone would do a thing like that. That would really REALLY pi$$ me off!!
Have you tried a rubbing compound made for clear coat finishes? You may even want to dabble a little with the hard stuff... get Kerm to come over and rub it with his warts .... (just kidding, Kermie!)
Sorry to hear some moron would do that. Short of having my Uncle Rocco pay the jerk a visit I agree with Steve.
Joe,
Thanks I appreciate your offer...but I think I would feel better if I could get my own hands on the jerk.
BTW, I got an extra "Join the Club" 2001 poster. Send your mailing address to me in an email and I'll send it to you. I leave tomorrow for Manaus, Brasil for a week. I've got a ton of stuff to take care of before I leave so it may be Christmas week for I can get it in the mail to you.

I had a "Colormelt" shop successfully erase a door length key job on C219 ... that might also be an option.

Sorry to hear about the butthead that put out his cigarette on your spoiler.
A similar thing happened when I lived in an apartment complex. One night somebody burnt my winter car(a white 97 Cavalier Z24) on the front bumper with a cigarette while I was sleeping. 3M foam pad polish only got part of it out. "These buttheads need a real lesson on respecting the property of others!" After that I bought a house with a garage so my SS is at least protected when it is home.
If you find anything that will take it out please let me know.

Hi Art,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner with my question. I am now in Manaus, Brasil at work in the Amazon jungle. It is not so easy to get internet connections here.
Can you tell me what a "ColorMelt" shop is? Do you know if one is set up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?
Thanks,
