All I can say is... DO IT! I recently switched from a Hurst Billet Plus to a Pro 5.0 after trying one out at SLP Day last year. It's like night and day... the 2-3 shift on the Pro 5.0 is as easy as the 1-2 shift.

I just about gave my 5.0 away! Did not like at all! Even son who has the Pro 5.0 on his Mustang said it was lousy! I went to the Hurst Chrome billet shifter and like it very much! Think it boils down to personal preference.

Interesting.... what didn't you and your son like about the Pro? I think the Hurst is way too nothcy and the 2-3 shift isn't exactly confidence inspiring...

I have the SLP shifter with Lou's short stick and I noticed a huge improvement from 2-3 over the stock shifter. I haven't tried the others.

I had the SLP installed Hurst Shifter, and even with the SHort Stick I still didn't like it. The Short Stick helped alot but not enough for me.

I LOVE my Pro 5.0. For my taste its VERY confidence inspiring. When Chab and I were at SLP day we both fell in love with the Pro 5.0.

I like the Ripper as well. Thats also a nice shifter.

I had a Aftermarket Hurst in my 95 and that was nice (not as nice as my Pro 5.0)

I have also installed a Kirban Kwik and that was pretty nice, stick was toooooooo short.

I checked out a Billet Hurst and it seemed ok, but I still preferred my Pro 5.0.

But like someone said, its personal preference. I checked the ones out I was insterested in and then made the purchase.
