Well...the SS was officially ordered by the dealership on December 11th at 8:58PM...there are precious few shopping weeks left before it arrives.
After !CAGS, the first mod will be a shifter since the Hurst was one of the few options I dedided to forego. The question now is which shifter to go with.
I have driven a Pro 5.0 equipped SS and was pretty impressed, but I found it to be almost too smooth. I have read and heard that the Rippers are a bit notchier. I also do like the way the Ripper is bent toward the driver.
Those of you who have driven in cars with both shifters...to the front of the class!!

I too just ordered my SS. For what it's worth I have a 95' Z28 with a "real" Hurst competition shifter. It's great, I never miss a 2-3 shift, even power shifting. You can get one for about $169. I put mine in myself. The factory Hurst shifter option is $325 and it does'nt perform as well as the aftermarket version.

I had a friend(who has a ripper in his formula) drive mine after I put the 5.0 in. He said he liked the Pro 5.0 better, but his shifter is two years old, so it may be a little lose. BTW, I like the Pro 5.0 alot.
