Today Jason Newsted announced he's leaving Metallica! He said something to the affect that he couldn't take the band life anymore, and that he's leaving in the interest for his family, himself, and to allow Metallica to grow. He said he still loves Lars, Het, and Kirk, so it seems like a peaceful leaving at least.
How could someone ever quit METALLICA? That's like giving up your crown to live among us surfs! Anyone have any ideas on who could replace him?

Replace him? What car company makes Metallaca ( or whatever it is). Is that a new SUV?

I heard it on Much Music (Canadian Version of MTV) tonight. I think there's more to it than his press explanation.

I tell you what.. if that ever happened then I'm sure the band would be happy to sue the snot out of anyone who used their name. They sued a furniture company in Texas for using the name "Metalika". I wonder when lawsuits are going to be filed from all the German bands that they have been ripping off for years? Screw Metalica. As far as I'm concerned they were finished as soon as Bob Rock got his hands on them.
