I need to change the oil on my Saturn. Actually, I should have changed the oil 3 or 3 or 4 months ago. I have a half case of Mobil 1 that's been sitting in the back seat for 2.5 months now. However, would you believe that I can't find a friggin' oil filter for the car? I have a 2000 Saturn LS2, which came with the 182hp V6: 2000 was the first year of production for the V6. I have been to two auto parts stores, and, for four brands of oil filters, none of them had a correct listing, or a listing at all, for this engine. One of the auto parts stores actually called up one manufacturer, and they weren't sure which filter to use. They finally said, "well it's this one", but the auto parts store was out of that model. Which is just as well, because I didn't have much confidence that it was the correct model. I finally stopped in at the Saturn dealership on Saturday - of course, their parts and service department had closed an hour earlier at 2:00pm. So I either have to stop at the dealership again, and get their replacement filter, or get the proper filter number for a known brand, such as Fram.
OK, now that I've finished that rant, does anyone know somewhere on the web which lists the proper oil filters for a vehicle?
On another note, I talked with one of the people at the dealership for a while. (He really gave me grief for not having changed my oil yet. - He's absolutely right.) Apparently, Saturn is coming out with an SUV (hey, we need more SUV models on the road!) this coming fall. They will also be introducing a minivan and pickup truck off of the same platform sometime in the future. The SUV will range in price from 18-24K, and will be offered in either FWD or AWD. What he couldn't answer for me was if the SUV was being built on a complete truck frame, as most SUVs are, or if it was being built on sub-frames as most cars are. He didn't honestly know. When I looked at the pictures of the Saturn SUV (They had a two panel picture of it, about 3' by 6') it reminded me most of the offerings from Suburu. I'll be interested to see if in person, not that I'd ever buy an SUV.

You can find more than you want at www.saturn.com. It's been named the Saturn "VUE" and is primarily plastic on a steel space frame. It's a sport "cute" like like the RAV4 & Escape, not a 4 x like the Suzuki offerings.
