Just got back from a week of travel and I had a very nice surprise waiting on my answering machine...
"Hi John, this is the dealer...we just found out that your SS is going to be built on January 29th...and we just got a fax from SLP and we have a VIN number for your car!"
YAHOO!!!!!

Hey John97RS, my guess is that your car has already started to be built. If this plant is like the GM plant I worked at before I retired you don't get a vin number until it gets to a spot on the line. It's hard to say at what point it might be but again if it's like the Lansing,MI. plant it might be started. Dave or Jeffy might know better about the Camaro plant. Good luck.

I ordered my SS on December 18th...it's been a long 5 weeks, and I figure it'll be another 3 or 4 weeks before I drive it home. Hopefully it will start warming up a little bit by the end of February.
