Has anyone experienced the Change Oil light coming on? My 2000 SS has 4,025 miles on it. I changed the oil @ 250 miles (Castrol Syntec 5w-30/AC filter). Changed again @ 1800 (Castrol/AC). Changed oil @ 3300 miles (Mobil 1 5w-30/Mobil 1 Synthetic filter). Two days ago the Change Oil idiolite comes on for about two minutes while I'm driving. It went off. I stopped to get fuel and the light came on again for a bit, then went off. Anyone have an idea? (Please no lectures on the early and frequent oil changes. I do oil analysis for a living and have access to excellent lab facilities. I put used oil in other cars.). Thanks for any help.

The change oil light keeps track of the engine revoultions. once it hits a certain amount it will go on. if yo uchanged your oil you can reset it. It will be in the manual but I think you turn key to on and press the Trip Reset button. Do this when Oil Change light comes on..

When you change your oil, reset the monitor. It'll tell you in the owners manual how to do it.

i just changed mine two weeks ago...there's another way to reset the light without having to reset your trip odometer. turn the key to on, press the gas pedal to the floor three times and the light should go out.

There's a couple different ways to reset the oil life monitor after you change the oil and they were both already mentioned. Whoever did your oil change last must've forgot to reset it for you. No probelmo...it's happened to me a couple of times.
