I just received my T Byrne Motorsports Carbon Fiber Whisper Lid with K&N Filters for my 2001 SS. What is that included little round K&N filter that supposed to go on the Air Pump and where is it located. Pictures would be helpful. I haven't torn my old airbox out yet. Any info would be helpful on this install. I see Install University doesn't talk about this Extra little K&N filer...Rich

hey rich, let's see if I can do this. This pic is when I first put on my whisper lid. On the right side of the airbox, just above the K&N sticker, you can see where I tie up the hose for the air pump. the little filter goes on the end of this hose, which runs into the back of the stock lid.

Thanks for the Picture Mark. That should help out my install. Rbwrestle: I think Mark has the Whisper Carbon Fiber Lid like mine. It doesn't come with any decals on it. Just a carbon fiber look to it.

It is just the plain ol' black lid. I just peeled off the LS1 stickers when I got it and stuck on an SS emblem that I bought from GM parts direct. It is the same emblem that you have on the sides and back of the car.

yes, the dealer really rips you off, that's why I got mine thru parts direct. I think they were at least half price of what the dealer wanted. I am not sure about the exact cost....it was a while ago and I have the mind of a 90 year old.....
if you want the emblems though, definitely do not get them from your dealer unless they give them to you at cost or something
