I logged two back to back 15 minute trips and came up with some interesting stuff.

Both trips, I recorded 0* knock retard. I was pretty excited about that...I wasn't sure what to expect but 0* at all times was nice to see.

Timing advance was a little strange. I'm very new to this so any input or comments on this are very welcome. It's very eratic when graphed, too.

At idle (avg 815rpm), I'm averaging 21.0* of advance. At cruise, which for me is an average of 2100rpm, I'm averaging about 35-39* of advance. Matter of fact, I was hitting 40.5* advance at times at that average rpm.

My average advance was 31.7* at an average of 1781rpm (averaged 100 updates to get this #)

Here's the strange part (to me) - at WOT runs, my timing is really low. 10.0* advance at 5700, 1.5* at 4500 - but it's fairly smooth when cruising and idle. And these dips are momentary - the advance bounces right back to seemingly more normal #s at the next update. I thought WOT would advance, not retard, that much.

My highest average timing was achieved in 4th gear cruising at 2100 rpm where I'm seeing 35-39* advance.

Any idea what's up with my timing? Any suggestions on what else I should be logging to examine this further?

Interesting, I think I'll have to get an auto tap.

I'm not sure what to make of the info, I'm not a timing expert. I know that advance robs power from the stroke but allows for acceleration so as you go up in the RPM range, acceleration is not as much of an issue so the timing can adjust fo max power?

I'd like to hear from someone who really knows this stuff!
