CHEVROLET AND THE CICC TO CELEBRATE
CAMARO'S 35TH ANNIVERSARYINDIANAPOLIS (March 7, 2001) Chevrolet and the Central Indiana Camaro
Club will host a 35th anniversary celebration of the legendary American
automobile on Saturday, September 1, at the National Hot Rod Association's 47th
annual U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Hundreds of Camaro enthusiasts will travel to Indianapolis from all across
the United States and Canada to participate in this once in a lifetime event.
The half-mile oval track adjacent to the drag strip will host a special event
where participants will display their classic Camaros throughout the day. Also
on display: a group of 45 35th Anniversary Camaro SS Convertibles that will
have been used as festival cars for the 2001 Brickyard 400. To help
commemorate the event, Jim Epler's nitro-powered Camaro Funny Car will sport a
special 35th anniversary paint scheme during race weekend.
There will be a 'Show and Shine' judging of Camaros by a panel of
celebrity judges from Chevrolet's racing contingency with the winners receiving
special awards. A Saturday evening cookout is included in the package with key
speakers and a driver autograph session.
On Sunday, participants in the 35th anniversary celebration will take part
in a parade lap around the world famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. For more

Gates at IRP open at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 1st, with two
professional qualifying sessions at 12:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
