hello all - i bought silver outlined SS emblems to replace the red outlined ones on my 2000 SS. i heard that a hairdryer and dental floss do the trick. is this true? is there any residue left behind? if so how do i remove it, without removing the many coats of zaino? any other tips would be greatly appreciated!
thanks davidn

I just changed the silver badges that came with my black SS to the factory red ones. First measure and take notes of the silver badge locations. Use the hair dryer to heat them and then slide the dental floss between the badges and the body with a slight sawing motion. There will be a lot of the adhesive left on the body and I used Goo Gone and my finger tip, not your nail, to roll it off. Then prep the body with rubbing alcohol so the new badges have a clean surface this means no Zaino around them. Then leave the wrapping around the the new badges, front and back, and tape them to the car from the TOP only so you can adjust and move them without sticking them to the car. The tape I used was 3M Scotch-Mask Masking tape, color Blue, it is expensive but will not lift your paint when you peal it up. Once you have the badges where you want them lift the bottom up leaving the top taped to the car and peal the wrapper to expose the adhesive and put back down and press. Then remove the front wrapping and the tape, with out lifting the badges from the car, peal at 180 degrees not straight up. Then Zaino away. Good Luck. Phil
