I have been thinking about trading in the Borla for the Loud Mouth. Can someone honestly give there opinon? Does it sound good. When my friends went to SLP day and heard it for the first time in person, they said it didn't sound good. I want to here more opinoins. Thanks guys

Hey Yikess, you really have to hear them yourself. This is strictly a personal preference thing. I like the Borla myself. The Loudmouth is just a bit much for me and a little too raspy. But that is only me. Find someone who has one that you can listen too! Besides, with what we paid for the Borla's before the Loudmouth was out, i won't change.

keep the Borla - not enough difference to spend that kind of $$ on. Slightly louder than borla, and raspier as Dan said.

Thanks DanA and Hawkeye. That was what my friends were saying about it when they heard it at SLP day. I have a sound file of it and it sounds pretty good. Noboby here in NY has it. I guess I have to wait for someone to get it. Thanks guys! Have a safe weekend.

Hey YIKESS, I've had both systems. I had the Borla on my '99 A4 Z28 and really liked it. It's loud, but not as loud as the LM. It's tunable, so you can play around with it when you install other mods. I know Dan runs his with the largest opening plate, but on the '99, I had better performance with the smallest opening plate. There isn't much difference in sound between running the smallest or largest plate, but the largest one does have a little more "crack" in it when you get on it. It's priced competetively with other stainless systems, but is the only one I know of that is tunable.

I put the LM on the SS and I really like it. It's a bit louder than the Borla and will definitely attract attention. It's especially awesome to hear as I come off a freeway exit at high speed and heel&toe it back down to 1st, It rocks...This is a polished stainless system and you can get it with the dual-dual tips which keeps the stock look if that's what you like. I haven't had any trouble with getting pulled over for the loudness, but then again, I don't drive it like an idiot around town either, so they leave me alone.

Either system is a good buy IMHO. Like Dan said, it's matter of personal pref. Hopefully, you'll get to show an get to hear one of each sometime soon. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Andy

Hey Yikess, If your going to Carisle in June you can take a ride in my SS so you can hear it first hand. I wouldn't get it yet until you have heard it. If you didn't have the Borla it would be a different story.

If your going to SLP day in MI, I would take you for a ride. I have it, at first I wasn't sure but it has toned down a bit and it's very nice. Yes it does get loud at the higher rpm 4th 5000, but what exhuast isn't going to get loud.

You really need to go for a ride in a car with one first before you make the decision.
