This has been bugging me since day 1. I have decided that it bugs me enough to get it fixed, or so I hope.

Whenever I put the car into drive, and sometimes when I downshift, I get this metalic TINK sound. I don't think it's normal, so I was wondering if anyone else has this problem ?

TIA

Kevin

Hey Kevin ... don't want it to look like we're ignoring you ....

A better question might be "anyone else have an A4"

There are several of us out here with an A4!

The "tink" seems to be a fairly common "problem". I think that's just the way aluminum drive shafts are going to be on an automatic transmission.

Hi Kevin,

My guy at the dealership replaced mine after he drove the car and heard the "tink" while the car was in for an unrelated issue. Problem solved! I believe the replacement was the fiberglass insulated one for the M6.

My car goes in next Tuesday for the Tink & rear end noise. I found some good info over at LS1.com. They have a great tech section.
