As soon as the 35th Anniversary Camaro SS has been unveiled, we'll allow all discussion to continue. Until then, let's help GM keep their secret.
BTW, Terri....too bad you're sooo far away, as a CICC member you could have helped us move 45 of these beauties to the Indy track for a lap and photo session today! They all have Brickyard 400 graphics...courtesy cars for the race and the first 45 of these cars ever built!!

I am not that impressed. I dont like the seat colors they chose. I really dont like the rims. I like they stripe job they did, however, I dont like the black filled in on the hood scoop. Was there a price difference between this car and a regular 2002 SS ?

I think it looks great for an anniversary version. Nice balance of graphics without being too much. I really like the wheels too. If I had the $ to own two SSs I would get one, but I don't think I like it enough to trade DaddySS.
How cool would those wheels look on a black convertible...I'll have to go to work on JeffY and Dave.

It's ok. I like the wheels better than the standard silver 10 spokes but the clear SS badge thing is for lack of a better word, gay. Anyway it's not a bad car I'm just very happy I got my 2001.

Go over to LS1.com and see what people really think, not all these SLP kiss asses. The car is ridiculous. Can we say seats, hoodscoop, and badges copy the 35th Mustang, just like they copied the Hurst car for the Ugly A$$ 10th Firehawk. No originality at all. I'm glad SLP has no Camaros or Firebirds to do their crappy workmanship on anymore. JeffR

I was there to see the car today and i have to admit it is nice like daddyss said a nice balance with the stripes. I know many will be dissapointed but look at what they did for the 30th Anniversary all it is is another stripe add on but people still love it. If i had the extra money i would pick one up and sit it next to mine.

ummmmm.... that's why lots of people here avoid LS1.com... the people over there. I have made several friends from ls1.com, but there are too many "gangstas" on that board.
Each is entitled to their own opinion. Respect that, but dont think yours or any one's is more important than an other.
and just to set the record straight... this was GM's baby, not SLP's.

Just seeing it in pictures i don't really care for it much. i am not a big fan of stripes...so those don't do much for me. And I don't really like the wheels...but I didn't like my 10 spokes in pictures either (and now I love them). I won't pass official judgement until I see it in person.

Guys and Gals....after spending the day with 45 of these and watching the general public's reaction as we drove them to IMS for the photo shoot...
...and then I drove #44 to the Street Machine Nationals to be displayed.......the general reaction was good...not great, but good. Most regular people (i.e. not Camaro owners) love seeing a Camaro all dressed up for something historic....big thumbs up as we drove along the streets of Indy....the reaction at the SMN's was also very good...of course the gearheads were disappointed that no HP mods were included, but overall it was well recieved.....we took a lap around the fairgrounds and everyone had a keen interest in the car...from there I drove to the huge cruise spot here in Indy (IndY2K people will remember the Suds)..the reaction was still good....no-one reacted overtly negatively....remember, you'll NEVER please everyone...that's the core of this hobby "individualism"...some like the stripe, some don't....some like the wheels, some don't...most people have a favorite color....I really like the seats, though I didn't think I would.
Let's face it...most if not all Anniversary models were equipped exactly like this, sure SLP stuffed the LT4 into the 30th, etc...but GM has a track record of this kind of package, so let's start there....
Now having said that and having seen the pics a week or two ago...then spending a few hours behind the wheel...I will admit my reaction to the pictures was..."dang-it it's just another red car"...but I have to tell you the more you're around it the more it really grows on you....I'm also not a "stripe" guy (at least on 4th gens) and I really had reservations about "living" with these stylized stripes, but I think they're just enough not to be too "over the top" and I think they'll grow on most people.
I'll be spending the next few months with car #44 ( don't ask ) and will keep you informed as to the over-all public reaction and reaction from other Camaro owners...the CICC people seemed to warm up to it really fast.
(((PS...for those of you that might think that my reaction is "tainted" by the use of a car....you just don't know me well enough then... I believe in forming an opinion with an open and well informed mind....just ask some of the CICC people that heard my initial rection to the pictures...it really does look better in person)))

I like it...but I'm not willing to pay an exorbanant amount for the package. Does anyone have any idea on how much the package costs?

It is nice, I really don't like the wheels at all or the black in front of the hood scoop but other than that it is ok. Don't look for me to be buying one though, especially since I will probably have to sell mine anyway. Thats life I guess.

the car is nice overall, but why red. i just wish that there were other color options. such as Navy/silver strips, black/white, white/black, etc. the seats are cool. i like the two-tone and head rests.

I may be in the minority here but I am very unimpressed. I was considering dropping my 2000 SS and going even in deeper debt for something special but not any more. I personally do kind of like the seats but I hate those stripes w/ the checkered flag treatment. Just looks cheesy to me. I wouldnt pay any more for that package at all. The wheels dont make me want them either. I am just disappointed in GM right now. Dropping the Camaro altogether and now not even giving the real Camaro enthusiast something real to cherish is pathetic. I will stick w/ my 2000 SS until something better comes along to add to the collection.

I think they ripped off the SSOA logo format.
We outght to sue. I think GM owes everyone in SSOA compensation. A new 2K+2 SS (with all available options, of course) would make me feel a lot better. Make mine yellow, please. With black stripes. Yeah, that's the ticket, yellow with black stripes just like the stripes on the 35th. give me the 5 spoke chrome wheels, though.

Yeah, there is a similarity between the design of the 35th Anniversary badge and the SSOA logo, but remember, we're using their emblems, so I think it's a wash.
I'm with ya on the yellow thing.................maybe they'll offer it sometime on a future one.
