Nope!! That was a "mash it" from a rolling idle in first ... I was actually surprised they spun ... and I didn't have to shift

We lived with breaking up asphalt, concrete and gravel for 7 years. I vowed when we do it, we'd do it right. We expect to retire in this place.

...looks great Art. Glad you finally have it finished. I'm surprised you Tattooed your nice drive.

I suppose when you DO retire and your memory slips, your wife will have to explain um' to ya every now and then.

LOL ... I can see it happening ... next week some time

Current plan is that C219 stay in the stable indefinitely ... relegated to "special duty" after about 70,000 miles. Kinda like your '69.

One of best things that I've ever done was after the concrete had been poured & finished on my driveway I made sure that they didn't broom finish it (which leaves the rough, lined looking surface). This has made keeping it clean so much easier, plus if you ever have to work outside, it makes moving around on the creeper a lot easier too. It's not slick at all, where you have to worry about someone falling when it's wet (which is the excuse the finisher will give for not wanting to leave it smooth). It also makes clearing snow much easier. I wouldn't recommend this where there is much of a slope, but if it's relativly flat, then you'll never be sorry.

The garage concrete is smooth ... and extremely slippery when wet ... but has the advantages you describe of easy creeping and cleaning ... the driveway has the heavy brooming for traction.

I'll try to take a picture of it sometime. It's nothing like the garage floor, it's more like the smoothness of well laid asphalt. I've driven on mine plenty of times in the snow with the SS & haven't had a problem, but my driveway is relatively flat.
Another thing to think about is a clear water sealant for concrete. My neighbor did this to his driveway (which has a broom finish) & it made quite a difference.
It doesn't have one stain on it & he says that it cleans up easily. It looks pretty nice too.
