Alright! It's that time of the year again. The date is Aug 25th This is a perfect opportunity to see what your car can do. You'll be surprised the handling capabilities of the 4gen F-Body. A bunch of us did it last year and it is fun to say the least. It's a good way to also develop confidence in your driving abilities. the National Auto Sport Assoc. runs the school. Here are the links to registration and the NASA website. There are links with in to Limerock as well.
P.S. If you have the Bilstein Suspension, it is a must for you to make it. I ran it last year unmodified and I was so impressed. I've since modified it and I can't wait to run it through it's paces again. My sig shot is from the school last year.

did you guys use the online registration? if you did any prob? I haven't registered yet and they screwed up my reg last year so I want to make sure before I do.

I did this a few months back with Mike F and crew at Summit Point. I definitely recommend doing something like this. It was a blast.
The first 20 minute session is very sobering...you practically have to learn how to drive all over again. But the second and third sessions are 20 minutes of turn carving, apex blasting bliss. There is nothing in this world like hitting an apex just right and accelerating out of a turn.
Don't forget to take out your center caps and remove all your lug nut covers...your wheels will get EXTEREMELY HOT!!!
I did the online Reg. I had some problems at first and I think Dan did too. I FINALLY found where you can register online with a credit card. It wasn't really user friendly......

YUP! It took about an hour to get a confirmation # back (which is in all letters). They called it confirmation #??? I still printed it down and wrote the #/letters down just in case. Did you recieve the same yet?

Hey John, what did you use for your numbers? Non residue contact paper or what?? I have magnetic numbers but the car I am bringing has no metal to stick them too! I have make some and was wondering what you used? Will it stick to Zaino?? Duct tape didn't!! TIA

Yup, I actually used non-residue contact paper on freshly Zaino'd paint. Fortunately, I was doing classroom instruction while my pit crew (Doug97SS ) fought, struggled, moaned, and whined trying to get the contact paper to stick!! But once it was on, it stuck really well. Hmmmm...that reminds me, I have an autocross this weekend at VMP...I need to get me some more contact paper.

Dan, I used Racers tape last year. It worked fine. I just had to press hard because of Zaino but then it held. It came off really easy with no residue. I got from OG racing.

The best and least expensive thing to use is 'Contact Paper'. Found at any Wal-Mart type store, it's used to line your shelves in the kitchen. It's gridded on the back, easy to cut and sticks very well for these events. And no residue.
Have a safe time, and try to learn something this time instead of just having a good time, huh.

Mike, I will be working hard to practice what I learned at Bragg-Smith. I have been using the techniques we learned in every day driving but at very slow "street" speeds. I am looking forward to trying them at faster speeds. I have been working very hard at heel/toe. I can't wait to see what a difference it makes at Lime Rock. I almost want to take my SS just to see how I compare to last year. Taking a different car will mean a new base line. But I just can't see not taking the Red Rocket!!! It is made for the track and I have to try it on the track.
Thanks for the contact paper idea. I think I can keep the same number so I will use the ones I have as a template to cut out contact paper ones.

Looks like we will be dragging the camper again to the track instead of staying at the hotel. We will most likely be on the road right after the close of the event. Maybe Dan and Grace will stay late, not sure though.
The car is all set for Limerock, all I have to do is change the oil and check ALL the fluids. I can't wait to get the car back out there.

We ahve to go home right after tht track as well. Maybe we could grab a quick dinner somewhere but not something that is too far or will take too long. We have busy days right around that time! Why don't you come home with us and have some good home cooking?? HA ha.

If you guys want I'll get two 3 foot subs made for us to eat for lunch on Sat. Maybe one Italian combo and one Turkey. Let me know. I'll have then made and pick them up the night before. I pretty sure Jim and Elyse are bringing the motor home so we could keep them in there. I'll email them and find out.

I just wanted to let you know I ordered the subs for sat. I ordered 1 3' Turkey with lettuce, tomato and american cheese and the other sub will be an Italian combo. The dressings will be on the side. I'll have Ranch, Mayo and Oil & Vinegar. I'm trying to get a large enough cooler to bring drinks for us too. I was planning on a lot of Gatorade for the day in the sun.
