Mornin' dude...keep your chin up and remember whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Only you can decide whether to stay with your Dad or strike out on your own. Weigh all the options, and don't discount any possibilities, I've known many people who have ended up with a killer jobs they really love and wouldn't have ever found if their hand had not been forced.
...and maintaining a positive attitude, no matter how difficult it is at times, can give you that boost you need...
Have a better one broh...

It's just starnge. I've been doing this for 11 years now
I'm sure I will figure out what to do. I worked with a person at a school district the other day. She does not know squat and they pay her about 30K a year. I know much more than she does, so if I decide to look, I'm sure I have a good shot.
I'm already knee deep in programming this morning, and enjoying it very much
And, I'm driving the Hawk every day too!

Good Morning, all Kevin, take comfort in knowing you are in a field where talented people will always find employment, hopefully you won't have to go that route, and things turn around. Good luck

Kevin ... I've worked for my Dad ... I've worked for someone else ... I've worked with my dad ... he always said "better a big fish in a small pond than a little fish in a big pond" It was true for him ... it's true for me ... If you've had a successful 11 year run with you dad I think you have the chemistry to get through the tough times.

Do what you have to and realize what a gift it is to have been able to work with your dad so long.
Follow your heart, there is someone that will guide you.
I worked with my dad for a few years before we lost him. It was the best years I had with him...... and I didn't make any money then. Hang in there and remember, we are here with you!
Sheesh, maybe I'll have to go back to programming to find a job, it's been a while!
