anyone have this problem. I took my car to a friends shop last week to rotate the tires. While we had it on thje lift I looked under it and noticed some fluid on the steering rack assembly. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what you did to fix it. I would like to avoid the dealer if possible. I like to have my friend fix it if it is not too expensive.

All my leaks have been rear end .... wait ... that didn't sound right. ... I have had, and again have a pinion seal leak. As my rear end grenaded right after getting the seal fixed last time, I'm really gunshy of getting it fixed again. Primary warranty is up in about 4,000 miles so I will get it done soon.

When you say leaking doe mean dripping or wet, did you check around the hoses to make sure they're tight? Is it coming from the boots or somewhere else?
If it's leaking badly by the way, it probably means a blown seal which you should get fixed right away since it could score the housing.

It is just wet. The fluid is all over the boot. I am going to put it back on the lift as soon as possible. It doesn't look too bad. I am hoping that it will be okay for the next 11k miles because my factory warranty will expire. I have a very trustworthy mechanic who can do the extended warranty stuff! No more dealerships for me!!!! Anyway, thanks for the input and I will post as I get updates.
