We'll took the car into the dealer today to determine what the light is all about. the service guy, comes back in 3 minutes and explains, "there are three error messages" I ask what that means and he says' we'll the messages come up indicating CAGS error, Mass Air flow, and some other air induction error (unspecificied) He says to me that because I have altered the CAGS, and added a SLP lid, and air sensor, that its likely that it wont be covered under a warranty serice repair. Then he tells me that it will have to be written up as a normal Service diagnostic to the tune of $150.00, and ifthe problem does not pertain to any of the mods, it will be covered under a normal warranty service. My question is: has anyone out there who has dont the CAGS mod, and Airbox/Air temp sensor, had this kind of response from the dealerships?? I highly doubt that any of the mods has triggered the service engine light, because it didn't go on after any of those things were installed. I followed the instructions for the modifications from SLP to the T! Anyone have some feed back?

The easiest way to check would be to put the original parts back on and see if the codes get thrown again.

It does seem strange that there are 3 codes, and each coincides with a mod you did, all at the same time

true, except the mods were all performed weeks before the light came on. I was surprised that the CAGS especially was showing up on the error list.(First mod) There is no question that it was several weeks after the insertion of the resitor. I would be surprised if it took that long to report it. The other thing thats bugging me is, I did reset the light by diconnecting the negative side of the battery for 5 minutes. It went off on the start up, and after being shut off it went back on. Obviously once it's errored it memorizes the occurence. I cant wait to hear what they come up with at the dealership.

Save yourself the headache of dealing with the sevice department and pick up an AutoTap. I consider it the best "Mod" Ive purchased.

Try the main reset, where you switch on the ignition (not start thr engine) and pull the PCM fuse, wait a few then reinsert. The full instructions are at install university (I think), you've got nothin to lose by trying it.

Thanks Daddy SS, Yea, I did that already, it does reset the light, but if somthing really is wrong, it errors again. I talked to the service guy this morning. It turns out the MAS was acting up, so they replaced it under warranty. I have yet to resolve the CAGS error yet, Im wondering if maybe the resistor has failed? maybe it came loose? I dunno, but i told the service guy not to worry about it, I could fix that problem.
Hey Joe, whats an Autotap? I think I would be interested in getting one if I could do some of my own Diagnostics. let me know. Thanks!

Auto is software that you can use to diagnose your own codes and change some settings.

I did all those mods and more, I had a light went to the dealer and he did not mention a word about my mods, he just reset the light and said if it happens again to bring it back. It's a dealer attitude thing with bolt on mods.

My thoughts. For my mods check the sig. plus Panhard Bar and Tourque Arm to be added this weekend.

Like Hawkeye said its OBDII software. I got mine from B&B electronics directly. You can check any codes, clear the codes and monitor like 140 computer functions in real time. Its a good tool at the track because your not guessing and good tool in the garage because the dealer cant give you a line of bull.Check T Byrnes site, they sell AutoTap and give a better explanation. I swear by it.

Killer! Thanks. I found out the Mass Air flow Sensor was defective, and the dealer replaced it. I had to do some remod on my CAGS. the resistor i had in there burnt out big time. I swear, some of the Service guys out there know less than i do about theese cars! I had the thing diagnosed without even looking at the computer. Oh well, Its time to get some Tools! AutoTap, here I come. Thank you for all the helpful insights everyone, Much appreciated!
