The Z06 is absolutely amazing on the track. Now if I can just learn how to drive it to do it justice.
NMB98SS and Joey Red had their usual great runs. The 3' Heroes, Subs, sandwiches, grinders, whatever you want to call them were great and the FBodFather would be extremely proud of Joey Red's canoli console, complete with cold pack. Hopefully we'll see some of Joey's video from his cool in car camera.
I can't wait to hear what Joey has to say about how his mods worked out. NBM98SS had Nitto's and he should tell us how they were.
Grumpy is fast as ever and still has the birdsh*& on his hood!! He is a racer, and a good one at that. I won't elaborate here.
LeesZ did some flying around in the Gold Z and Grumpy Junior (Tony) had everyone watching that S-10 Extreme as he passed car after car. He also won an award in the time trials using LeesZ car.
My instructor was great and because I couldn't get in the time trials I managed to get an extra run group in. I felt like I was getting a rythm and had the Z06 tires singing by the time I finished the last sessions.
A surprise visit by Mike F and his wife was a welcome site as well.
One guy in a BMW Z3 managed to roll it over onto it's roll bar. Car was a mess! I only was one other off track excursion (I won't say who) but it was a harmless spin in a safe spot.
I can't wait for Bragg-Smith now!! I ahve to find more track time somewhere.

Ok here's the deal. I had an unbelievable time. The weather was better than last year and perfect at that. It wasn't as crowded as last year so we had more track sessions. Grumpy and Leez are doing great! They had their motor hom with them so it was nice to sit under the awning in the shade every once in a while. The subs were a success which made me very happy. Mike F and I attacked the Italian combo. He said he didn't want turkey. He said he didn't want to be associated with the turkeys that didn't show. Now on to the track. Dan's ZO6 is an animal for the road coarse. What a beaut! I really like that red but I'm biased. I know I know Dan you want to get a blue one but that's just a good because blue is my favorite color. Hmmmmmmmm ironic eh? Paul's SS was tearing up the track very nicely after lowering and adding the Nittos. Grumpy and LeeZ and their son Tony were having great runs. It was cool to see Tony's S-10 pickup chew up cars on a road coarse. I like to see that wacky stuff. And, as far as who went off the track, let's just say that I wasn't in the car this time. I was going to bring the grass seed but ran out of time before I could run to Home Depot. The class sessions were handled very well. I had the pleasure of having our chief instructor John Berger ride with me. What an experience! He's knows soooo much. I was the "Grasshopper to the Master". He guided me through the coarse and learned the racing line all over again. He also gave me a ride in his beastly SS. This is the best way to describe that run... That car handles like it's on rails. I took it easy first time out and gradually worked up from there. By the third session I really started banging on it. The mods i did to the Bilstein package really made it awesome. The SS felt really good in the turns. I didn't have any binding with the poly bushings. I was probably underdriving the car because of driver confidence. Like I said before each session I got on it a liitle harder. I really let the Loudmouth sing! I got good feedback from John so that helps. Track time is the key. We'll see what Bragg Smith does to me. The in-car camera mount I made worked like a charm. A little shaky in the turns but that's expected. Over all it was nice and steady. I'll make an mpeg or two for people to download. I'll have to find a sever to host them. I'll post pics as soon as I get them devoped. I got some of the egomaniac that rolled his Z3. There's always one. Overall it was a blast to see everyone again and I'm very much looking forward to Bragg Smith. Nevada lookout!!!!!!!

This was a perfect day overall, low 70's and sunny couldn't ask for a better day. With that said,
Dan and his ZO6 was awesome. I didn't have a chance to follow Dan, but I heard he was pounding the pavement with it.
Joey Red, with that bright RED Zaino'ed SS was flying around the track also. He had the only shiny SS there (polish-boy)....
LeesZ and Grumpy had a great day too. This was one event they could just relax and play with there cars, and not have to play registra and tech inspector. Even Toni (Grumpy jr) took LeesZ Z-28 and came in second in his class at the time-trails. Way to go Toni.
I got the chance to drive with 2 black Trans-am's on my third trip onto the track, we were pretty much even going around the track. They looked awesome pounding the pavement behind me. Talking with one of them later (name withheld) he was a dealer with one of the showroom cars at the track. That Trans-am goes back on the dealers showroom floor today, it had about 300 miles on it. He said, he will change the oil and filter and clean it up.... "BEWARE" THIS CAR IS ALREADY BROKEN IN, ( I guess you can drive them off the showrrom floor and right to the track)..... This car has about 500 total miles it.....
The Nitto drag radials were great after the first lap. They need to heat up before really getting on them. They just don't stick when there cold. I had a great instructor this year, showed me many new lines to take on the track to keep the SS smooth all the way through the course. What I did like this year was the micro-phone in the helmut. It was clear and you didn't have to scream at each other, much more enjoyable.
My HAT is off to all the instructors that took the time (and there lives) to show us how to be better drivers. Not knowing what kind of a driver you are, it takes nerves of steel to be a passenger with a novice thats never been to one of these events before.
Well between Dan and Joey Red's comments that just about sums it up, we all had a great time, can't wait to do it all again next year.
