I am so happy with the outcome of this week-long project. I took my sweet time getting it all done, but I can't beleive how well everything turned out. Thank you Mark and Andy for the "inspiration" to do this in Bowling Green. I am one happy customer.
I went with a fairly subtle paint combo, but for the life of me I just can't stop staring at my brakes!
Also did Earl's braided brake lines from Thunder Racing, and I am VERY happy with this mod. The brakes behave pretty much the same as stock under light to moderate braking, but lay into the "whoa pedal" and the difference is night and day...the brakes start to stop the car instantly. Highly recommended.
Also a special thank you to Mike Furtaw (99HOSS) for all the tools and the advice.

Rob: I'd be more than happy to come over and help you do this one weekend if you feel like it. It's actually a lot of fun. Also, I see by your sig that mod fever has started over your way...trust me, this is just the beginning.
Dark Age: That's the same paint I used on the calipers. I masked off the area where the wheel contacts the rotor, so it looks kinda ratty in the picture, but it looks great with the wheels on.
I'm gonna try to get some pics with the wheels on the car tonight.

hey john01ss-- what paint did you use for the thin white looking area of your caliper closest to the center of the rotor. not the dark grey part with the "CAMARO" on it, but the other part? i want to paint mine, and i like that two-tone look.

Hey John, seriously? You'd help me with this if I decided to do it? I would appreciate it considering I have NO CLUE where to begin. My car is a daily driver, so do you think it could be done in a day (like a Saturday)? I would obviously need you to help me choose all the right parts needed and even paint. I was thinking black and red.
If you would really help me, I will get back to you on this subject sometime after Christmas. I probably won't have time until January because of work and school (I am graduating this semester)
Talk to ya later, Rob.
P.S. Yes, that damn mod bug has hit me. I was also thinking about getting a chrome hood scoop insert.
P.S.S. Later in life (when I have sufficient funds), I will be getting longtubes, Y-pipe, exhaust, the works.....MUST.........GET......MORE.......HP!

Looks like you did a great job, always glad to inspire someone into doing mods to their cars, too bad I wasn't able to be there to enjoy in the fun! The drive from IL to VA would be a killer!
GOOD WORK Andy

Sure thing Rob. I'd be glad to help. It's a lot of fun. Getting it done in one day shouldn't be a problem. The paint dries to the touch in a hour.
The only things you'd need to have in advance would be the paint and tools. (And crush washers if you plan on removing the calipers from the brake lines, which is the way I did it...makes it easier and avoids any change of getting overspray on the car.)
