We're running a GP for the Baer brake packages from now until 3/31. Discounts are available on all of the big packages along with the Eradispeed Replacement Rotors. anyone here do the BAER brake swap. I've been thinking about it awhile and am wondering about the results.

Here is a little (ok, maybe alot of) warranty info that may help -

Baer's Limited Lifetime Warranty Against Warping

What is covered by this warranty:

Baer warrants the rotors sold as part of any EradiSpeedTM product not to warp for the life of the product. Any rotor that we confirm is warped will be replaced by us at no charge to you. This warranty is limited to providing a replacement rotor and does not include labor to remove or replace the product. Normal as well as other forms of wear is not covered by this warranty.

To make a warranty claim:

Return the rotor in question to Baer freight prepaid. Upon confirmation by us that the rotor is warped, we will promptly replace it free of charge. Please call Baer for RMA number BEFORE returning rotors at (602) 233-1411.

What does Baer define as "warped?"

Warped rotors are caused when the iron rotor witnesses a radical change in temperature. In such cases, the iron suffers a "thermal shock" and the material "grows" or expands at a dissimilar rate. This changes the parallelism of the two outer surfaces; effectively making the rotor wider and then thinner at the areas the pads make contact.

Typically this condition manifests itself with a "pulsation", a "shake" or a "shudder" while braking. Such a "shake" only occurs while braking and then become progressively worse the harder the brakes are applied. If a "shake" actually becomes less pronounced when the brakes are applied harder, this is a clear indication that warped rotors are not the cause.

When an iron rotor is heated to extreme temperatures, a phase transformation in the crystalline structure of the rotor material could occur. Under certain conditions this can occur unevenly in the material and thus causes wider and thinner areas on the rotor. This is why even when a rotor is surfaced or cut to eliminate a warping problem, it is common for the problem to go away until the temperature is again elevated, after which the phase transformation could again occur and the "shake" or "pulse" returns. The iron composition used and the design of the EradiSpeedTM rotor reduces the possibility of phase transformation of the material.

Warping cannot be measured as "run out" at the tip of the rotor. Measurable run out is typical of production rotors. Further run out measured on a vehicle and not in a controlled environment is caused by a number of factors such as the condition of the hub and the cleanliness of same at the surface the rotor contacts. To be able to measure a "warp" condition, the variance in the thickness on the parallel surfaces of the rotor's inner and outer face must be measured and properly compared. This can only effectively be measured on a known flat surface; we employ a precision ground granite table with precision instruments.

What is not covered:

There is no warranty for normal wear, run out, cracks, or for plated surfaces.

Baer will not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages and your exclusive remedy shall be replacement of the part not meeting this limited warranty. All other warranties express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose and merchantability are specifically excluded.

Federal and/or state laws may provide you with other warranties for this product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
