for some warranty work! As the wife and I went for our maiden voyage yesterday in the Brickyard 400, we were getting on the hi way and while on a on ramp I noticed what looked like a blade of grass on the left top of the windshield. The wife was driving and there was no one in front of us. I took a second look and to my suprise ,the windshield had developed a stress crack! My very pumped up happy mood soon made my stomach ache! I could not believe this! Nice day,top down 1st ride and a cracked windshield! I told her there was nothing that we could do but get it replaced. The scarry part is that the Camaro Banner on the windshield and my car #22 decals, the Fbodfather had these special made for the 45 2002 35th LE Brickyard 400 Camaro's. I know I cannot peel them off and reuse them! Man, the wife and I are bummed! I did not even sleep last night think about a dealer horror storied I have read about. Well can't cry over spilled milk.... have to make an appointment with the local Chevy dealer

Thanks for the "heads up" on the decals! I wonder if I can take and heat them with a heat gun or hair dryer from the backside of the windshield?

Have you discussed the windshield banner issue with the Fbodfather? Perhaps he can direct you to his source for them.
You didn't raise the hood while the wipers were in the service position by any chance, did you?
If the crack appeared on its own, perhaps it's a warranty issue.
At the least, I believe parts for any car in service are supposed to be available for a certain period of time whether for warranty or purchase/replacement.
It's at least worth checking with him to find out if replacements are available from the decal source.

Do you own a '96-'02 Camaro SS?

That stress crack is definitly not from the wipers as it appeared 1 mile from our house while on a tight but fast hi way on ramp.Since my wife was driving and I was playing passanger ,I did say to her that I need to clean the windows. A few minutes later ,it looked like a blade of grass was on the windshield. With a closer look ,it was a crack. I did e-mail the Fbodfather and he e-mailed Howard Kirchenbauer about the mishap and asked if there were any more banners and #'s. I have not got a reply as of yet from either one. The Fbodfather does not like to see any of his kids with an injury. Thanks for the reply. It made me feel a little better!
