I want to bring my car down from Seattle to your shop.
I have the following parts that need to be installed:
1. SLP Y-Pipe 2. NGK Spark plugs 3. 160* thermostat 4. All fluids changed and replaced with Redline (I have all the correct amounts and weights)
My questions are: 1. Should I just give the shop a call or book through you? 2. My car has 18,000 on it - anything else I should do at this time? I've only done oil changes so far. 3. Will it be okay for me to hang around the shop? I'll have no place else to go and would really like to walk under my car on the lift.
I'm interested in having these things done at your place to aviod the hassle of doing this on the grond in my garage. Also, because I don't want to damage it by jacking it up and I'd have to buy jack stands.

Ryan, You may want to consider a Hypertech programmer to take full advantage of the 160* thermostat. Unfortunately, it doesn't have as many uses for us M6 people as it does the A4's.
And while you're down here, you should stick around for dinner...I'm sure we could round up a little SS posse.

You could also look at the SLP manual fan control switch

I was considering the HPP but don't think I'm ready to spend the $$ yet. Actually, Steve just told me that the car needs to be reprogramed in order to deal with the coolant temp changes. So, I may skip it all together for now.
The fan switch is a nice alternative and I have looked at them. I decided against one because I don't like the idea of remembering to control the fan. I'd rather have them kick on automatically. I think the switch makes a lot of sence for the track - I don't want to hassle it for daily driving. Plus, if I need to adjust the PCM to deal with the lower coolant temps, it seems the HPP is the way to go.

hmmmmmmmm, hadn't thought of the lunch idea. Just wish you could stay for dinner with everybody. I know HTWLSS, obSSd, NateSS (along with maybe some others) would like to meet you and get together, but probably can only do dinner. Hey, its only a 2 1/2 hour drive back home!!! Let us know what you think.

Ryan, Unfortunately lunch isn't very doable since I take the light rail into downtown Portland and Steve's shop is 10 miles away. Maybe we could all work our schedules for an early dinner.

Depending on how the install goes, perhaps you'll be done early and we could have an "afternoon" dinner. One thought is we could travel north on I-5 to Vancouver, WA to a restaurant up there. It'll get Ryan north of the Columbia River, out of traffic and help get him home up to 30 minutes faster. Whaddaya think?

I'm in! I'll hang around for an early dinner. That sounds like an excellent idea.
NateSS, Maybe you can at least stop by for a little while.
I love the idea of a restaurant up north a ways. But, I'm open to what works for everyone. As long as I hit the road by 6:30 or 7:00 and can miss traffic, I'm fine.

Ditto that. I'll throw in a suggestion/vote for Damon's Grill in Jantzen Beach, OR. It's on the south side of the Columbia River, at the OR/WA border, north of the bulk of traffic, and easy on/off I-5. (unless someone else comes up with a good place a few miles north, in the I-5 corridor).
