I was wondering about the 'New Engine Plaques' shown on the SLP web site. Have any of you installed or seen one of these? How does it mount? Do you know of a picture showing one mounted? Is it worth the $$$$? Does it drop your e.t., improve your MPG, or increase your HP? Maybe it only improves your SPM (Smiles Per Mile).

Thanks,

I too would like to see one mounted. It will not add anything to the car but a bit of personalization.

I was one of the first to order one, but have not yet received it. Should be here in a week or two. Although SLP doesn't have any proven performance increase on the production model, prototyped models were wind tunnel tested and were shown to decrease you drag coefficient by a substantial amount. This also improves your fuel mileage.

Although some guys claim it can improve your ETs by as much as .15 seconds in the 1/4 mile! I will test it out when I install mine.

Yeah, for those of us with pre-2001 models (with EGR), the control valve sits in front of the r/h cylinder head where the plaque mounts.

yep, look at this pic (copy and paste, stupid geocities ).

http://www.geocities.com/mthayman/hood.JPG

You can see directly above the shoulder of the airlid on the left of the picture that there are bolts where it mounts on the 2001+ cars.

Whoever said you couldn't run away from your problems obviously wasn't driving an SS.

Oh, sure...get all technical on me.

I had to call it "engine stuff" because my brain wouldn't recall what the stuff in the way was.

(Thank you for posting the real name for me!)

That's the correct web address. The Plaques are shown on the first page you see. Just look to the far right hand side.

Thanks...I found out. I just was looking hard enough. Does anyone know if fuel rail covers will get in the way or hide this plaque?

I have Corvette fuel rail covers, they don't come close to the area where the engine plaque mounts.
