Do you have an Ford Shop manual that shows the blow up view of a 1988 Ranger non tilt steering column? I bought my truck for a guy who took the column apart to replace the ignition lock cylinder (instead of pushing the cylinder release button) and there is a ton of slop at the upper bearing. I took it apart yesterday to see what is wrong and the brearing is good but does nothing.I think it may be missing some pieces or was assembled wrong.I would think that most Ford car and truck columns between 1982 and 1990 may be the same.

Sorry, unfortunatly I just looked in alldata and found nothing (at least not what you need). Your best bet (and this is what i do), is to call the dealers parts dept, and ask them to fax you a picture of the steering column parts. Just tell them what you need, and why you need it, and they will do it no problem. Then you can look and see whats missing, and order it.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
