Installed my SLP 85mm MAF yesterday. The weather cleared up a bit today and I was able to make some good full throttle runs this morning.
Results? It's an improvement, but not a big one. The gains seem to be best above 4200 RPM. The engine seems to want more RPM than ever before. I hit the rev limiter in 1st gear and I never do that! I always want to shift before 6K, but this time, it seemed to pull further into the high rev's and just want more.
It makes sense that my engine, which is stock internally, would not need the extra flow until I got into the high rev's. I did not get the amazing SOTP difference like I did with the air lid and filter. The car seems to twist hardder in the top of the gears which should mean more power. I guess I could have added 5 rwhp. It's hard to tell since that is not a big % increase.
The Good News: 1. I like the fit better than the stock MAF and SLP air lid. 2. Looks cool 3. Car runs smooth and idles perfectly 4. No SES lights or problems
Concerns: Am I running this puppy too lean? I guess I'd better dyno it again. My stock dyno had an A/F ratio of 12.1 I thik...have to check again.

I wouldn't be concerned too much about running lean. I had my SS dynoed last summer after installing the SLP 85mm MAF, the SLP cold air induction box, Direct-Flo lid and Holley Powershot filter. I still ended up with an A/F ratio of 12.7, on average, although it went as high as 17 in the first 500 to 1,000 RPM of the dyno run, until the fuel delivery caught up.

i do believe that 12-13 A/F ratio is about right. mine however is running very rich. my F/A ratio hit as low as 10. need to get that fixed
