First (Canadian) long weekend of the "summer". Hopefully we will have time to do a little detailing on the family vehicles (maybe even a little Zaino on the SS )

Good morning all. THe Leafs won last night. They are a rolling.
Go Bruins!
Have a great weekend. Dinner plans for Sat night but that is it this weekend.
Throught I would throw this picture in today. I spent a few minutes with the digital camera yesterday. I have had the thing for a wuite a while and didn't know how to use it right. I wanted to be able to take pictures where the subject is dark with a bright background and not have the subject be underexposed. I always have to lighten picture of the SS because it is black. I figured out how to get the right aperature from the subject instead of the background. Now I am going to try some manual shutter speeds and f-stops to see if I can change the depth of field (as in have the background blurry). The camaera has a lot of features that I never use. I always enjoyed my old manual 35MM but the digital is fun too.
Now if my free web hosting site would just work!

Marion's hopping on a plane to Edmonton for the long weekend to visit her sister and family ... so it'll be me, Scotty (our rabbit) and the SS for the weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to get the last of the "tinkering" done. Tim and I finished installing the strap mounts on our new trailer last night so that's all set now. (:
Y'all have a great day ... weekend ... and long weekend, Canucks

Hey all, working from the home office today, about 400 emails to catch up on
Dan, you shutter bug, the pic looks great. In Nikon scholl we learned that one of the most important things in picture taking is keep the manual for the camera with the camera at all times - it works!
Had a good meet with Bello and Erin last evening.
Oil changes for the SSs this weekend.
Have a great one all.

I have an old Minolta SRT 201 and a 800MM zoom. I got pretty good with that. It is completely manual. No auto focus, no auto iris. I had to really learn the camera. There are so many neat things you can do. I haven't touched that camera in a couple of years. I am trying to get the hang of this new fangled technology! I am getting old. I really want to spend some time and experiment with the manual settings to see what I get. The neat thing is no film, if I don't like something I can jsut delete it! Cool!

What did you get? Sounds like a great digital if it has all the manual overrides. How much optical zoom does it have?

I've had a Sony digital camera for a couple of years now, and really like it. It has all the manual adjustments - exposure, speed, flash, etc. It has a 6X digital zoom. A bonus with the Sony is that I was able to buy a lense adaptor, that mounts a Sony video cam 2X telephoto lens, giving me a 12X zoom. The zoom is great at racing & other outdoor events.

Art. It is an Olympus C3000. 3X optical zoom. 2X digital zoom. It is 3.3 megapixel's. It takes really good high res pictures. It also has the small cards to store on and in high res (not super high res) my 64 meg card will hold 84 pictures. That is 2048 X 1536. I am very satiified with the camera. If left on automatic, it's just point and shoot. I resize all the pictures to 640 by 480 before I put them on my host but have all the high res on CD and my hard drive.
