Love these short weeks, mid week already!

Supposed to be sunny and warm today - finally!

I decided yesterday at lunch to change my wife's new Jeep to synthetic (Mobil 1). There's a Jiffy Lube next door to where she works, so at lunch I took her Jeep over. I stood talking to the manager while the technician was pouring the oil into the crankcase. The manager was telling me how expensive the Mobil 1 is, I calmly mentioned that if it was so expensive that he should have his tech put the drain plug in before filling the engine with oil. Yep - he was pouring in quart after quart with no drain plug in. I got a nice synthetic oil flush of the crankcase.

Have a great day friends.

Good morning

Mid 70's with a chance of showers/thundershowers today. Possible flurries tomorrow

Hawkeye ... that'd be funny if it wasn't for the possibility that if you had been in the vehicle, there would have been chance of you driving out of there without a drain plug, or oil

Y'all have a great day, eh!!

G'morning!

Just received a Carbra car bra yesterday, for the SS. First impressions are very good - good quality and a relatively thick inner liner to prevent scratches.

Hey Brian;

What model of Jeep did you get? I'm on my 3rd Grand Cherokee and have used synthetic in all of them. The first two had the 5.2 liter and the current one has a 4.7l. All of them ran great (it must have been the synthetic) but left a little bit to be desired in gas mileage.

There's a story to it, but I bought her a TJ Sport. It's my fourth, my first was a 1966 Kaiser with a flat head 4, my last I ordered new in 1985, my favourite was my 1980 CJ7 - V8 stick. That one rocked!!

Art, they always show you the oil dip stick before you drive off. They'd have shown my a "clean" stick. I never just sit in the car. I always get out and watch. I use the time to do my own visual inspection.

Howdy!

Hawkeye: Seems that the Jiffy Lubes are universal throughout North America.

Check your drain plug to make sure they didn't strip it or tighten it improperly.
Steve sees a LOT of J.L. mistakes come through the shop.

Evening all, beautiful day here. Took the SS in to work, watched the parade of ships right outside my window, was in a meeting during the f-16 flyby, hard to focus on the subject at hand!
