ok i got my car serviced at a defferent dealer since i no longer work chevy and i can have my car serviced where i am now i brought it in for shimmy in front end, brake pedal pulsates, speakers rattling t-top leaking(again), and rear hatch not unlocking all the time. the cut the rotors told me the bass was up too high(the line was in the middle) the t-top i wont be able to tell you until it rains and there is nothing wrong with the rear hatch. but the tech noticed that the car had no power i havent noticed anything different on it and they said well u have an aftermarket exhaust system on it. he said what kinda is it, i told it is slp loudmouth. he went ohhhhhhh.....well u do know that u have to reprogram the computer to compensate for the loss of power when u put that on. i was like what th hell r u talking about....i have never heard of such a thing has anyone else? could this be true?

The tech doesn't know his @$$ from a hole in the ground. The Loudmouth gives roughly the same gain as the SLP Dual Dual exhaust, which is roughly the same as most catback systems. From what I understand, it may rob the car of some low end torque to due less backpressure but makes a little more power on the top end. However the difference is so small that you probably wouldn't be able to tell except on a dyno. Forget what he said and don't let them work on your car again.

I second the motion. Dont let them touch your car again. You dont need to reprogram the PCM just because you put exhuast on it, and it doesnt lower the horsepower either. Find another place to take your car, and ask us here first BEFORE doing anything to your car next time. It never hurts to ask a question, and it gives us something to do/talk about!!!!

Complete nonsense! Find another dealer. I have been very happy with the one down the street from my house - they never even mention my mods, just do the warranty work and ask me to fill out the customer satisfaction survey.

hey Erin, btw, the rear hatch problem you are having is fairly common. i also have the same problem. there is a spring mod at university intsall's web site. basically you put a slightly smaller spring on top of the original spring. have not done it yet, but it is supposed to make your rear hatch pop up without any more problems. you should ask Joey where he gets his car serviced. if it is not too far, maybe you should try it out.
