Teri,

It was to my understanding that the Camaro convertible 'white' top is vinyl while the 'black' and 'neutral' tops are both cloth. Over on the SLP board, one member says that his 2001 'Vert with black top is vinyl and definately not cloth. Could this be true?

I haven't seen a vinyl top on a 4th Gen in anything but White.

Maybe he can post some close-up pics of it.

Yeah, that is what I had in mind also. I did ask if he could post some pics.

Hey Teri,

Well 'kick_*ss' over on the SLP board is 100% right! I am wrong. Out tops ( black and neutral ) are not 'cloth' but are an 'acrylic' ( plastic ) fabric. Plastic made to 'look' and 'feel' like cloth. Ya learn something new every day!

To me "cloth" would be any woven fabric regardless of whether it is made of natural or synthetic materials.

So what is white? It seems less cloth-like and more vinyl-like to me.

Plastic sheet I would assume and not woven like black and neutral. Actually the white top is PVC.
