hello all. I am the newest member of the ssoa, and am excited to be in the group. I waited 5 months for my ss so i am happy to have it, and now i am in a club with other people that have the same cars and love for those cars. I have driven camaros for all 3 years of my driving career and am sad to see them go. i am sure to see a few of you inline when the plants start to put out more in the next few years. If anyone has ordered parts from slp please tell me how they are, i ordered a few intake parts and just want to know what the reputation is with them. also i will have a few tech questions later. take care all and keep eating those imports for lunch and dinner.

Hi Woody,
SLP is TOP quality but their customer service stinks. Order something and they send it by SLOW pony express. Seems they haven't heard of overnight yet ... even if you ask.

Personally, I look for anything else before SLP, but I keep coming back to the bums bacause they make very good parts. First rate quality if you can stomach their attitude and slowness. Heck, I needed a chrome wheel replaced under waranty and it STILL ain't here after 3.5 weeks! Now THAT's SLOW! And inexcusable, in my book. If it weren't for their quality, I'd never buy anything else from them.

Stil, if you want the best ... order from SLP and grow a Sequoia tree or something. You'll like the results if you still own the car when the parts arrive. If so, they WILL fit and look good and perfom well. ... you'll just be pissed that it took so long ... detracting from your sense of satisfaction somewhat ...

Hi woody and welcome!

SLP has some good stuff, you'll see and hear many complaints about their claims and their service, best bet - before you buy, ask us, there's a lot of experience here.
I know what you mean about driving experience - I've been driving Camaros for my....last three years too....the other 30 years of driving was spent in variety of other nice cars! [Big Grin] [Wink]

I have ordered from SLP as well. Check my signature for some of the SLP parts on my car.

No problems at all. All parts were as promised and I have not experienced the slow delivery. Once I ordered parts shipped to Florida as I would be vacationing there. I gave them a window for shipping and the package arrived on the promised day [Big Grin]

As for Engineering in Troy. Those of us here who have experienced their shop have nothing but praise. First class work, they stay on the job till it's done right. Quoted prices for the installs regardless of how long they spend on the job.

I think there have been growing pains for them along the way. As most business grow and expand some areas often suffer, but remember that in times of need Dave is just a phone call away.

My $0.02 - BTW - welcome to the SSOA family.

I have had nothing but good experiences with SLP. I only had to wait a month or two for my LT Headers and that was because they were on back order. They even offered to send me the rest of my order (Cats and the Y pipe) before the headers. I love the stuff they make and would buy a SLP product before anything thing else.

Welcome aboars and congrats on your car. Please post pictures, we want to asee another one.

I have bought a bunch of things from SLP and have had nothing but good experiences. Their stuff is excellent and they always settled any issue to my satisfaction. They are not a huge conglomerate and I like the more personal feel. I do believe that some people do no not get what they want when they want it but they get stressed about it. I just accept some things and go on.

Anyway, great to have you and we will be happy to answer any questions that we can.

Hi! Welcome! Congrats on your purchase.
I have bought a few things from SLP and have had decent luck. The problems were mostly on the customer service side.
Also, the chrome 10 spokes that I bought leave a little to be desired on the chrome. Someday I will have them rechromed and I am sure they will be fine.
Anyway, I haven't bought anything from SLP in a long time so maybe it's getting better. But I still hear a lot of horror stories.
With SLP, who you are definately matters.
