She'll be O.K. - just think of it as going to the hair dresser for a new hairdo!

When the car was delivered, the passenger side window was closed on the top. Over time, that area has rubbed on the glass and caused it to wear the top. I just rolled over 36k miles last week so, I took it in just before the factory warranty expired. They decieded to replace the whole top.

I just got an update!!!! They are replacing the whole frame!!! It seems that there were some loose bolts! They are going to have to keep it overnight!

hmmm..I would like to hear how the new top turns out. My top has what appears to be a small wear mark or protrusion on the right side near the rear of the "roof". I am wondering whether or not I should take it in...it will probably develop into a full blown hole as soon as the warranty is up...with my luck. Anyway, I fear that they would want to replace the top and it wouldn't be the same. I guess the bright side is that you have a brand new top. Anyway, keep us posted Amy. I want to know how my car's twin comes out of this!

I'll let you know how it goes. I was not too nervous until they mentioned swapping out the entire frame!!! I think I might have to go visit my car tonight. She will be lonely!! Say a prayer for her tonight!

Not sure if this applies here. When I had a new top put on my 91 RS they told we to wait a few days before lowering it.

Mark, Both our SS and SST have that protrusion on both sides. If you feel around, it appears to be a sharp, poking piece of a cotter pin or something on the frame. Careful when feeling around, there are some sharp things in there.
We'll be comparing ours w/other ragtops in B.G.

Teri Well I guess it's good to know mine isnt the only one...I am just worried it will cause a hole. Please let me know what you see at BG and how you think our tops will hold up. If I am going to take it back to the dealer for repair, it will have to be soon before the warranty expires!
