I made the dry run to make sure of the directions and make sure evrything can be easily found. I had no problems at all. The cruise from the museum to Boltons Landing took me 45 minutes. It will probably take us a little longer to keep from loosing anyone at a couple of stop signs. I'll make up specific directions with tripometer readings as soon as I get a chance and post them. I'll also work up a map. I'll have copies of both at the event for everyone too.
It is all countryside until we get into Glasgow, a real nice drive. There are a couple of places that may make for a real good pic from the top of a hill, looking back down the road. You will have to watch out for horse carriages, yes, horse carriages. I stopped and took this pic on the cruise route.
I used the Parkway (30 cent toll) and Interstate on the way back to go to Race World. There is an longer alternate route for those who want another bit of country driving coming back. I won't have the specific tripometer miles for that though.
On the country road, you do have to watch out for the occassional road kill and "apples" that the horses leave behind. Overall it should be a real nice cruise to dinner.

Natalie and I are definately looking forward to the trip and the SSOA Thursday... We are planning to be very social and go with the flow, as this is our first time since our daughter was born 15 months ago that we have been "without child" for more than 24 hours... WOW.. 5 days!

Hey, Kevin. make sure you get the tripometer readings in kilometers so you don't lose any of your Canadian friends.
Also, we've been practicing driving around horses and buggies up here in Menonnite country, for a long time. It will be interesting to compare notes with the locals in Kentucky.

Actually that was the first horse and buggy I've seen on a road in a long time, but then I live in the city.

Just found out we're going!! Really excited. never been to BG. We'll be coming from the Philly area and hope to join up with Ralph and some others. I belong to the Lehigh Valley Camaro Club and have submitted my application to the SSOA back in July.
We're to arrive on the 18th and stay through Sunday morning.
