I was on my way home from the EMCC meeting and pulled off the main road on to a side street in my sub. I pass a kid driving a beat up 1989-1995 T-Bird and the kid does a 180 in the road behind me then tail gates my butt for a block or so. Those that know me,I will give the guy a break check (driving my Ranger beater) but the wife was with me and I did not feel like getting all worked up before going to bed. So I slow right down the whole block to a stop sign. Then proceded to go home. A few minutes later I hear tires squealing several times. The next thing I see this punk driving 80-100 mph down the street then he locked up the brakes and skidded for several hundred feet, and then fishtailed around a corner. My son and his friends were in my garage and we all ran out to see WTF was going on. The car turns the corner and again about 100mph coming straight toward us and even swerved at us ,just missing my son and his friend. My son's friend threw his drink at the car as it sped by. I told the wife to call the cops. I tried to find this car to get the plate # because the licence plate light did not work. I did not find the car. The cop finally shows up and while we were giving the description of the car to the cop,we see a car turning down the street about a block away. The cop hits his spotlight and theT-Bird see it and backs up and turns around. The cop proceded to chase with that slow Crown Vic but lost the guy. We looked for the car for the next 1/2 hour. I went home and was outside in my garage(w/lights off)and see the T-Bird coming down the street slow like it was going to turn toward my house and at the last minute, went straight. The wifes calls the cops again to help pin point the suspects. I give up and go to bed. A few minutes later my son rushes into my room and says he has the plate #. The wife calls the cops again. My son and his friend somehow found the car again and it was trying to loose them.My wife was on the cell phone with my son while they were following the car and then a guy in the back seat points a black metal object at my son and his friend. All my wife hears is my son yelling to get down and back off! They saw the K-9 unit and yelled at the cop to go after the T-Bird. The cop pulls the T-Bird over and then the flee the scene, now 3 cops chasing them.I get dressed again and went to the local Target where the cops were making the arrest. The K9 German Shepard also searched the car and found a dope pipe. 3 out of the 4 punks were 18 and drinking(illegal in Michigan)and were arrested. The driver got a drug charge, wreckless driving, evading police and severl other charges. Come to find out there was another neighbor who was also trying to get the plate # and turn these punks in for 3 months. The punks actually told the cops that they were coming back around my house to use a baseball bat and tire iron on us for getting that drink on the car! Stupid! I did not get much sleep ! Sorry for the long post!

With overcrowded jails, they probably made bail this morning! I could have just let it go ,but I would not have felt too great if these guys killed an inocent person. I could care less about the punks!

OMG. That is too scary. Any chance you can get a restraining order so you have something else against them if they decide to come back? You might request some extra drive-by police patrols for awhile if that hasn't already been arranged.

If I have any problems, the cops told me they would take care of it.(Just make sure I have fresh doughnuts at the house!LOL). The 1st problem I have ,all of them punks will have a restraining order against them. I think Joey Red and da family may need to make a visit to Michigan. Is this Gino's fault? Restraining orders take time. Make sure you have one in place before another incident.
What happened last night should be enough to claim fear for your safety and justify the order.

...agree with Teri, ...don't wait for another incident. The whole thing is scary though, ...they know where YOU live, ...not the other way around. THe simple fact that they know that, ...and (obviously) know you turned them in, ...leads one to be on the edge a bit. Definitely ask the cops for extra patrols in your neighborhood, ...bring this up with the neighbors so that more people request it. be safe...

It shouldn't be too hard to find out who they are and where they live (matter of public record for those 18 and over). I'd also try to get copies of their mug shots so you recognize them if you didn't get a good look at them when they were being arrested. I certainly understand kids acting out a little when they are that age, but not at someone else's expense. It's aggravating that so many kids are totally disrespectful of other people and their property nowadays. I think a some of it has to do with the restrictions placed on parents as far as discipline is concerned as well as what seems like a trend to let kids pretty much do whatever they want with no consequences until they're old enough to get arrested. If this driver has been terrorizing people for 3 months, it's doubtful that his parents are exercising any kind of control. Good luck and let's hope they have enough sense to let it go.

In my younger years, none of my friends or I ever did crap like this. The difference back then and now is a good old butt whippin that most parents today are too afraid to give their kids when they are young!

I say setup some security cameras. The little sneaky ones they can't see. Evidence recorded will really nail 'em.

Hey thats awful what's happened to you...Not to scare you but...Theres a family in my fire district on sunday morning that had the car in their driveway set on fire at 5am in the morning. I didn't hear the conclusions of the crime scene investigation but my take(since I'm the one who pried open the trunk fully involved in flames)was that it might have been set from under the car just like a burning bag of something...They previously had their mailbox set on fire so I guess they aren't sleeping too well...The car was 3 feet from their house..only the shorted wires to the car alarm saved them...I can't believe the evil thats out there today! Wouldn't you think our nation would have more togetherness in light of todays world...Whats wrong with todays generation???

Greg, if you take Brain up on his offer for one of the dogs, make sure you get the one that doesn't make the mess on the kitchen floor.
Hopefully the trouble makers were out for a one time fling, and they won't bother you again.

Dude, that seriously sucks! Glad all of you are, so far, doing well and pray it stays that way. Like I always say "to understand these people and their intention, we would be doing the same thing". They aren't sane at all and we will never understand their actions. But we should be allowed to rid our society of such crap.

Ed,it has been a quiet neighborhood the last couple of nights. The next time you are driving down Saltz east of Morton Taylor check out the skid marks on Morrison,Manton. You can tell this guy was hauling!
