I sure am glad this SSOA board exists? I just read a few of the posts on Sneezes BS board.
I feel a bit like Rip Van Winkle! Have I missed something? I know I don't frequent the SLP board much anymore, way too busy for me - but things to have gotten out of hand there. It's more like the chat rooms my kids go in than an auto board. Is that the problem there?
Anyone?

Dave's got a tough job, and for many years has put up with a bit too much junk every now and again.
Dave's been doing some housekeeping. The pendulum in on the upswing. As long as people participate where they feel they can contribute in a positive way, it will be a fun place to hang out and help others.
There's always our back yard (porch) to hang out on and be with friends, too.
Both boards are good places to frequent. Sometimes it's difficult to keep the riff raff in check, but Dave's doing what he can to make it work for everyone.

A very unfortunate situation to say the least.
Some rifts formed over, IMHO, stupid crap. Long time friendships are now strained. Thats why I say it's stupid crap, because the details werent important enough to jeopardize the friendships.
Not gonna get into the gory details, but obviously this got ugly.
Chalk it up to 10,000+ members on Dave's site.
I hope the Old Timers Lounge Dave set up will afford the senior members a chance to get back that coziness we still have here.
Dave has posted you need to be a 95-98 original member, but that is not a steadfast rule. Anyone interested in gaining access should email Dave.
It has been good to see Hawkeye, Dan, poSSum, and other friends popping in and saying hello.

It is sad. WIth all the members on dave's board it is a tough job. There are many different types of people. I remain neutral and hang here mostly anyway.

I agree with you Dan...it can get quite busy over there and important things can easily get overlooked. I find it much better just posting over here as we seem to be a..um..'closer knit bunch' Posts: 2651 | From: Enola (Harrisburg Area), Pennsylvania | Registered: Jan 2002

Found out about SLP during the summer and have seen the change over the past several months. But I have seen a lot of migration to the back poarch. Its like moving to a different location to get away from the insanity that has occured. Posts: 3091 | From: Canton Mi. | Registered: Oct 2002

Seems like the SLP board is getting full of spoiled little brats that have zero maners at all. I have noticed since the last Camaro was produced, that the SLP board has gotten slower than ever too. Many veterans that used to be regulars, never even post any more. You all bring up good points. It seems that if you don't go there every hour that it takes you fo ever to scan all of the posts just for that day. I started going there in 1999 just before we bought the SS. Then follwed others to this board and the SSOA when it was created and call this place home ever since. I post on SLP every now and then but it seems that I always get covered up by so many other posts. I have thought about e-mailing Dave but not sure if I would "fit." I remember the growing pains this board and group had, and saw members leave because of it, but we survived and came out of it all pretty good. I enjoy everyones comments and the friends Mary and I have made.
call it home here because the front light is always on,
keep it safe.

Chances are the post was buried by the junk that Dave has been culling out lately or Dave wasn't able to answer your question. It might be one of those things that requires a phone call. Post your question again and if you don't see an answer in a couple of days, best to call SLP and ask the question directly to someone who handes those orders.

I think I will post again.....after Monday(hunting season ). SLP tried for me but could not get anywhere......SLP didn't know that the LE#'s for the 35TH were out. But I did order my X-Mass present to me from my wife floor mats for the SS.

35th ED, I think I can answer your question about the LE#. It took me about a 1/2hr on the phone, but I was able to make some sense to the sales rep at SLP. He put me on hold and asked permission and I was gived the OK to have a new deck mat and engine plaque made with the LE# instead of the SLP#. I've already got my mat and am waiting for the plaque. (wish they would let us get it in red)

I show you as having 35th Anniversary # 2790. I hope that's the same # you have. I didn't see it listed in your signature.

That's a great idea! I had corresponded with JeffY back in July about having both numbers on the engine plaque. He didn't think there was room for both of them.
Will your plaque specify that the number is the LE# and not the SS build #? Just curious. If not, I guess you could be parked next to another SS with the same engine plaque someday and you would both be correct.

I am waiting on an email to JeffY about the LE# on the plate will post when I get a reply.SLP sales rep said that the plate could only say "car" and not "LE".I tryed to repost an earlier post on the SLP board today but have been having problems. Look for it it was sent to Dave/Jeff. Posts: 3091 | From: Canton Mi. | Registered: Oct 2002

Teri, Yep, the mat does have #2790 for my LE. And thanks for looking out for me.
The plaque does say "CAR #", not "LE #".....I was told only the # could be changed. I tried for a red plaque instead of black. As far as matching other SS cars. The LEs have their own deck mat and plaque design, so maybe that enough to seperate the two sets of #s???
