If any of you have been following my topic over at LS1.com, you're aware of the saga of motor this past December.

Briefly, I took the car in for minor service, including fixing a small coolant leak, and found out 4 days later than the dealership couldn't get the motor to run properly after they buttoned it back up (they had to remove the intake manifold to access the leaking coolant tube). After a few days of trying every diagnosis -- including pulling the heads -- and with GM Tech support being stumped, the decision was made to give me a brand new LS1 under warranty.

Got the car back Friday, Jan. 3rd (had to wait a few days for a last minute impulse buy: a set of JBA headers). Here are some photos of the install. Forgive the quality, a left a disposable snapshot camera for the mechanic to take pictures.

Motor ready to go in, with JBA headers and MSD wires, etc, installed:

The finishing touch: a new Momo Combat shift knob and trim ring with red Wheelskins boot:

All I can say is, what a nice Xmas present!
