Good afternoon, all,

got a few emails this morning wanting to know more about the Chevy Display
at the North American International Autoshow in Detroit this
week...............

Chevrolet has three new vehicles on display:

2004 Malibu
2004 Colorado (two vehicles shown)
2005 Equinox

We will also feature the SS Concept and the Cheyenne in the GM Concept
Studio directly behind the Chevrolet Exhibit.

Chevrolet has two 'salons' -- one is the SS Salon that features a 1/8th
scale model of the SS concept, three historic Chevy V8s (327, 409, 396)
some great videos of SSs past, present and future -- and other SS stuff.

The second salon is the "Z71 Salon" which features parts and suspension
systems from the Z71 package which will be offered over a wider variety of
trucks. (also has videos and other stuff...)

(note : Chevrolet has a strategy for both SS and Z71 as we go
forward....and in terms of SS, it has to mean something....no longer just
decals, nameplates, and stripes...........)

Naturally, the 50th Anniversary Corvette and SSR Signature Series are
displayed as well as the rest of the 2003 Chevrolet Lineup.

And at the back of the Chevy Display is the Chevy Motorsports display
featuring a NASCAR Monte Carlo, an IRL car, and the C5R
Corvette.............along with small video screens and such..............

The GM Experience Mezzanine (stairs go up from either side of the Chevrolet
display) offers visitors a lot of stuff.......from the new GM HyWire -- and
an NHRA Cavalier -- to a restored 1970 Chevelle SS with modern-day GM
Performance Parts Driveline. There is a substantial number of current GM
engine displays......and a test Dyno where an LS6 gets put through its
paces (talk about loud.......) Also a chassis dynamics "shake test" that
shakes a Silverado (quite a torture test)
--Also the "GM Proving Ground Theatre" which takes you on a 5 minute run
through various testing -- in a very unique audio/visual way.
-- some Historic engines and components........and more.........

If you're coming to Detroit between January 11 and 20...make sure to stop

I'm assuming this means '....and in terms of SS, it has to mean something like the Camaro SS does....no longer just decals, nameplates, and stripes.....' [Smile]
